Add that to the fact that Marotta and Agnelli have expressed a need to buy three or so world class players. I'm not saying anything is for certain and I'm still fairly pessimistic about the outcome of the next transfer period but given that those two statements (given around the same period of time) it seems likely that Agnelli would have expressed to Elkann the 'necessity' for funds to fill those expressed goals for the coming mercato. Buying only players like Pazienza and Montolivo for starting roles in next seasons side would be contrary to everything that's been said by Elkann and the management so far regarding transfer policy.
Maybe so, but I can't shake the feeling that what they're saying (or how) is just a way to try and sound good towards the fans, media & shareholders.
Of course they can't flat out say that investments are impossible or won't happen, not after the season we're having at least, since it's obvious that we need to improve pretty much everything.
As for the "World Class" players, who's to say what they mean or think. I'm pretty sure that, for example, both Montolivo & Bastos would be considered as major arrivals. Pazienza obviously not though.
Not sure what you mean when saying our transfer policy. Frankly, I don't think we have one (anymore, I should say).
