I thought that the first 6-7 songs in 10000 Days were awesome, but the album just failed to keep me interested beyond that. I hardly remember what the last 3 songs sound like cos they just weren't memorable.

RS has it's moments IMO, i like it but i guess not as much as you do. It has fantastic lyrics though, and i like the fact they were experimenting with new elements, that's always welcomed. It was a pretty entertaining song to see live in 2007.

Right in two is a pretty meh song to Tool's standard, and yes, i was referring to Intension/Viginti Trees and the instrumental tracks. I love instrumental musci in general and i love it when they feel and sound kinda connected to the rest of the album, that's not the case in 10k days.

When you wait that long you expect a lot. And those excuses of songs weren't enough to fill that hole.
I do think there is a bit too much filler on the album but I would still say it's at least 3/4 as good as AEnima or Lateralus imo. Jambi and Rosetta Stoned would be both be in my top 10 favourite Tool songs.

oh well... looks like it's not done

Jones later posted on Twitter, saying: “FYI, 'The record’s done and it’s coming out tomorrow’ is what I said yesterday, followed by 'just kidding…’.”

Best thing they've put out in more than a decade.

These are the guys carrying the metal torch at the moment, no one really comes close imo. Excited like a little girl for their new album.

Everyone knows about that too :p. You are just late to the party :D.

    One of the best covers:

I am stunned that I didn't know about this, or I just plain forgot. I would say that I simply didn't know about this.

You want to talk about a great cover:

And as all the singers had said at that concert, they needed to bring the songs down at least one octave because they couldn't sign them in Freddie's key :touched:

My god, I sure do love hard rock and heavy metal. It just makes you feel so good inside.

I started listening to jazz and R & B and soul when I was really young, moved on to Funk and hip hop, but there's just something really special about a great rock track that gives you chills unlike any other musical genre out there.

I know the Freddie Tribute Concert like it's my own :p.

    RIP greatest vocalist ever.

And I agree with you about the feelings heavy metal and hard rock bring. I'm so sad that people today would rather listen to absolute shit and consider metal outdated. Kids have no idea who Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, King Diamond are. Queen has some following mostly because of Freddie but it's still not what they should get. Meh, music these days...

Whenever I watch any documentaries on Queen or Freddie I still cry. I remember the day he died like it was yesterday. You would've thought my own brother died that day.

Now, don't hate me for this. Please don't.

    But.......................

I'm trying to get tickets for Queen + Adam Lambert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in July. I know I know. But in all honesty, he does a really good job interpreting freddie's sound. I was pessimistic at first, and then I saw a Youtube video of them performing. "Seven Seas of Rhye", and I said. "Well, that was pretty fucking awesome."

Now I must go see them.
