I was one of those who thought Messi was clear better in the early days of their rivalry 2007-2011. However, when you see how much Ronaldo has adapted his game, I really respect him.

Furthermore, stats wise, it's really close but Ronaldo has a slight edge overall IMO due to international record. He has a decent chance of becoming the all time top international goalscorer and the all time overall top goalscorer ahead of Pele, Puskas, etc
