ronaldo had a bad game but 2 of the goals from Messi cam from penalties... i didnt watch the game but 3-4 and 3 penalties, probably an awful game
Messi controlled the game for Barca with his passing and movement. They were 2-1 down and Messi made a goal out of nothing to get them back in it. He got the assist for the first goal and also got the assist for the penalty Neymar with a fantastic through ball.

Ronaldo is just not in Messi's league and never will be.

Ronaldo is a more complete and better player, as is very evident in his performance with portugal and manchester, where messi fails at argentina at big games.

Thing is, Barcelona's core, is MUCH better then Madrid's core. Barcelona has allways been about busquets backing iniesta and xavi, with around them players that suit their style and messi to supply in the final third.
Madrid, whilst having fancy names, has a relatively poor holding midfield compared to barcelona. Sure, xabi is a good player. Sure, now modric isnt quite bad eighter. But that absolutely doesnt compare to xavi and iniesta.

If Madrid would have had for example schweinsteiger and Pirlo holding their midfield, THEN we could see quite something

exactly. Messi plays in a perfect system that suits his playing style with WC players in the middle. Madrid's middle is just too weak when Modric is their key playmaker and Alonso (the only one who is/was WC got past his prime)...

I dont get ancelotti in that regard.

Playing this formation against barcelona ? Offcourse Messi is going to drop deep and play right between two holding midfielders that cannot contain him one bit.

He should do what mourinho did. Play someone like pepe as anchorman and crowd the area around messi
Or what bayern did last season, but because madrid has the intelligence, of a plasticine potato, they will never buy formidable holding midfielders like bayern, wich essentially killed tiki taki

Actually, what they would need is Vidal and De Rossi (pogba is again more offensive).

Vidal + in form De Rossi. Uefacelona be shitting bricks

Mourinho tried that btw. He asked for samuel, chiellini, de rossi and vidal. Got none cause real doesnt invest in non creating players.

When i read that i just can not take this post seriously sorry. If u honestly think that then u should not be watching football.

If Messi doesn't play tonight Barca score 0 goals. He was involved in every single goal they scored. Imagine a Barca without Messi it would struggle so much to score goals. Messi is always involved in the build up play to the goals and is always getting on the ball making things happen.

Ronaldo is a goal scorer plain and simple Messi is so much more.

Ronaldo is the most complete player in the history of football.

Messi is beyond excellent in many things, but not as complete as ronaldo, and the reason messi was good, and sucks against italian teams, is because madrid played 2 creative players to hold the midfield, giving him all the room.

milan with their shitty defence completely locked him down in the first leg last year. When their joke of a defence was exposed in camp nou , Messi finally scored a field goal against an italian team.

Barca dont have a shitty defence? If Ronaldo is so good then how come he couldn't even get 1 chance tonight while Benzema got about 5?
