Sorry guys but you need to watch more of Messi :D

His technique is great, he's not fancy but his ball controll, passing, dribbling, and finish with both feet are out of this world. Ronaldo has more pace and he's built like a tank and to say that all Messi got on Ronaldo is pace is crazy. You ll rarely find Messi outrunning a defence.

And to the person who said that the whole teams works for Messi, same thing for Ronaldo who's more selfish and always looking for his shot.

Back me here @Fred;
meh i'm bored with this debate tbh, i can think of a number of players who have better technique than Ronaldo, he's a monster physically though, and thats what makes him superior to all players barring Messi. Technique wise, there isn't a player that is close to Messi right now. His close ball control, dribbling ability and ability to operate in tight spaces is rivalled only by iniesta(who isn't half as effective as messi is). Ronaldo doesn't even come close, weirdest argument i've ever seen tbh. I can understand people arguing Ronaldo is superior, but Ronaldo having more technique is just out of the question.

I would love to see Messi doing a rabona with those stubby legs :D

Like I said, he's fantastic at his skill but he rarely beats his player with anything other than speed/short passes.

Maybe I haven't watched him enough but that's because I'd rather watch paint dry than watching Barca so perhaps I'm not the best judge.

:agree:

Messi will find it hard to deliver when he reaches 34-38years because his sprint and speed will obviously go slower and since he's not that technique type of a player ala Zidane who was certainly delivering greats at 36 or Del Piero for instance top scorer of Serie A at 35, because they had something left in them when they lost speed.

When Messi looses speed with time, there's not much of him left IMO.

i don't think messi cares how will he play at 35 man...he will have 2 more shots at a world cup trophy, if he doesn't succedes c'est la vie...he's a wc player without that cup. if he wants he can be the best player barca ever had and turn into a symbol.

Alen & Amauri.:touched:

Can you imagine a Del Piero-Amauri combo ?
Both of them are technically superb, one of them is a wizard with the ball on the ground while the other one is unstoppable in the air.
Just 2 or 3 matches together and they can rock serie A the way Alex-Trez were doing that throughout the years.

What do you guys think now, would it have been better if we bought Huntelaar instead of Amauri ?

Many wanted KJC and they didn't want Amauri. They had very good reasons for that. Huntelaar is 3 years younger, he scores goals for fun, even if it's only in the Dutch league, and he looked too superior compared to the other strikers from his generation. Amauri on the other hand, even though he was 28, had no experience playing on the biggest stage, no CL experience, never scoring many goals etc.

What do you think now ? Do you think we'd have been better/same/worse if we had Huntelaar instead of Amauri.
Ok, it's tough to answer this since we've seen Amauri in Juve and we didn't see KJC, but you can make a guess what was going to happen if we had the Dutchman.
And you think Robinho will be more useful to us than Amauri ? :dielaugh:
Even if this rumour was true and we did reject 50m for Amauri, i'll still be glad we did it.

First i want to say that Amauri is the most complete striker in the world
. He's not a great poacher as Trez or RVN, he isn't a great support striker as Del Piero, but he is very good in everything and no other attacker is so complete.
Amauri is a good goalscorer, he has very good positioning, he can play everywhere in attack, his airial power is unmatched in the world, he has amazing technique, he has a magnet on his chests and he picks up all the long balls, he can create chances for himself and for the others. He's pure gold.

As for the 50m offer...
First of all, in January we'd have lost Amauri if we accepted the offer. Trez is expected to be back in February (he said so in today's interview with him). David will probably need time, at least a month, to be back in form, and it will probably be way too late for us.

Then, are you guys sure that we'd have invested the money smartly ? You keep attacking Secco for being an awful transfer guru and now you say that with the money we could buy Fabregas. Are you sure that Arsenal will sell? Are you sure that Real won't offer 60m ? Chelsea won't offer 80m?
Even in the summer i'm not sure we can buy such a world star, how can i be sure that we'd have bought a great player in January ? Plus, this world class player, whatever his name is, will be cup-tied in January.

Amauri was a great transfer. We are so lucky to have him. I hope our board wo't be foolish to sell him now or during the summer.
He didn't start well after the winter holidays. It's time for him to remind us again why we felt in love with him so fast.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, isn't it Alen.:D

Now the reason i brought all of that up is that everybody has been wrong about some player, at some point. Some more than others(BD;)) Now when this poll was put up, Messi was clearly the most dominate player between the two, he won back to back La Liga titles with barca along with the CL. Lets not forget he won the la liga player of the year, ballon d'Or & fifa world player of the year award beating out CR7 on numerous occasions.

Messi is obviously a better player than Ronaldo imo, he's always been the better player, the fact that Ronaldo has been better this season, only shows he's in better form.
