He didn't get a striker, players like Dzeko Llorente and Jojo not being unavailable doesn't mean there are not other strikers
And about the depth, we could have bought cheaper players, you don't spend all your budget on squad depth

I don't agree with over-paying but then again I still strongly feel we over payed for both Matri and Quag, i'd much rather we spent more on better strikers

Had we gotten Berba or Llorente, I would give it 8/10 maybe even a 9/10. Bendtner doesn't exactly install trust me. I hope he has a good season but unless he proves otherwise, this is getting a 7/10

I rated the mercato a 8 before the Bendter deal. It would have gone up to a 9 if he would have bought us a proper striker. Instead my rating went down to a 7 . This was the year we had to make that little step up in quality with buying a topstriker. We didn't.

Do you think the players get affected by the market? I mean they were also anticipating a top player, don't they feel disappointed? Will that affect their game?

I think they are professional enough. Matri should be more motivated, but I still don't expect him to do anything extraordinary. The midfield and defense look solid, and should perform at their usual levels, potentially carry us through many games. The attack sucks, but hopefully Vucinic can stay motivated and hungry when it matters.

Good move that he did not sign another garbage LB / LWB. De Ceglie/ Asamoah are enough.

If he gets us Llorente/ Dzeko in January I would be happy if he extends, otherwise he needs to pack his bags and leave. Simple as that. The man failed completing his main task.

Why would you be happier with Bendtner than Berba?

Does Bendtner run more than Berba? No. Seriously, posts like these piss me off.
Is he a better finisher? God no.
Does he have better technique (or even close to the same level)?
Does he have the same finesse and fantasy when it comes to creating plays for teammates? God no.

So why, why, why are you more satisfied with the purchase of Bendtner over the potential purchase of last seasons EPL top scorer?
