He's a big part of the problem.

We went badly backwards with him and lost our winning mentality. Pirlo was the wrong man to change the momentum.

Sarri had a bad season compared to the usual standard we had with Allegri. However, there was always the notion that 'Any manager could win Serie A with Juventus." This season has proven otherwise so Sarri deserves at least some credit.

I can see both sides to the argument. It certainly looks like we couldn't take anyone off the street, make them manager and they'd win the league this season.

However, if Pirlo took over from Allegri's Juve I think there is a far better chance we'd be winning the league (and I am one of his biggest critics).

Under Sarri we lost the winning mentality, the way to grind out results and our solidity. Momentum is a huge thing in sport and we were on a downward trajectory for most of last season. It's far easier to take charge of a functioning team than a malfunctioning one to try to turn things around. Pirlo clearly is out his depth and not got the ability to change the momentum of a team for the better.

Watching under Sarri was also awful for large spells, but he quickly changed his style to something more suitable for us once he realised he had no chance to play like at Napoli. Pirlo doesn't have the experience of 30 years (didn't even have 30 games) to do that, which isn't his fault, but Sarri was clearly still a wrong choice. We went to the opposite end of the spectrum and made it worse.

People will always go for one extreme or the other, especially when it comes to Sarri, but at the end of the day the truth is fairly simple.

1. He was not the right manager for Juve
2. Our abysmal transfer business in the last few years is obviously not his fault

he won serie A
And? We won it 8 times in a row before that, including 4 straight domestic doubles. He got embarrassed in every cup comp. Almost managed to collapse in the league. Our worst point total and goal differential of the era.

This clown should never have been hired in the first place. Downgrading from Max to Sarri was a joke.
