In case of the pressing matter I saw that we leave a huge gap between mids and defenders.
When the opposition is in possession, our backline drops deep while our wingers and mids bar pjianic come to press near the middle. The problem arises when the opposing team overcomes the first line of defense that leaves defenders on one VS one situation with mids and wingers cought forward.
I don't understand why the defensive line has to drop deep if the midfielders and wingers press so high up the pitch. Is it because of the lack of speed our cb and pjanic have?
For pressing to be effective don't defenders have to push up to somehow cram the opposition players in hopes of winning the ball very fast?
That's why I think we are so disjointed and the team doesn't seem to move like a unit on the defensive phase.

Thoughts on moving Cuads back to winger? Im hoping this helped solve some of the balance issues and lets Ramsey use his work rate more. Also could have Sandro push up more as well. Sarri loves to have one wide attacking backl and one wide winger. We have lacked that for his system as well

i remember juventus having a balanced team despite starting with only 2 cm's. but that juventus had cuadrado/dani alves as rw, and also mandzukic as lw.

so yeah, keeping cuadrado in the lineup might make some things tick. but 1. it won't solve all of our problems like how the fullbacks have to defend, how we leave a lot of space between the lines, how the midfielders cannot support the defense enough, or how predictable our possession game is 2. while i love juan, consistency isn't his best attribute, and he certainly needs to be rested from time to time, which is not sarri's best attribute (see pjanic, sandro or bonucci being played no matter what). anyway, it is a welcome change of course, and so is dybala benching higuain. i hope it works.

I think it helps with a few things. Firstly though changing some tactics wont make our midfield magically better individually so we have to take that with a grain of salt I think. Also some assumptions are about to be made that might not be true
1. Cuads will help the defense in a way we havnt had all season-through the width. This could keep the midfield tighter to the center and a bit more fluid and able to cover more vertically and not as much side to side.
2. This could provide an our for Matuidi-We need width with Ronaldo going more central. This could push Sandro higher and not NEED width from a cm on that side as much.
3. It could give us much more width and ability to spread and use Ronaldos head a bit more. This could especially help in the CL where we need more ability to spread and retain the ball.
4. Dybala being close to goal is a must for me

This move potentially solves a lot of issues. Another one being Ramsey being out of position and not have Costa fit. It might ot work but I do think it will balance the team and make us more fluid while getting players in better positions.
