We should add width to our play. It's not always easy to create from middle
that's what sarri tried to do with cuadrado and alex sandro this time. not that it worked so far (at least not in until the first goal; after that, i had to leave and didn't see the match), but it's a better idea than trying to send pjanic or bentancur out wide and leave gaping holes in the middle as an invitation for a counter.

Nice win.Slowly looking more fluid and when there isnt 10 men sitting in the box we look unstoppable at times. The key is finding the balance we need to not let our defense get exposed.

Its such a interesting dilemma.
When we play to win the league games and dominate the bottom sides we give up something in continuity that some of the "system" teams have
Now we have a "system" thats not perfect and we look boring af against serie a teams. We still get results though so imo I like sticking with the system and slowly working different players to try to gain balance

Things start to gel but this was slowed down because of injuries, not because of time that was needed to learn tbh.

Ramsey and Douglas Costa are back and suddenly we're more efficient up front? Not surprising at all, Bernardeschi doesn't belong to the AM role. He had to play there because the other two were injured and that's it.
Khedira is done at the top level and Matuidi still looks awkward. He's useful but in a very limited use.
Good thing is Rabiot and Bentancur started to pick it up, they are much more suited to Sarri's needs but both kind of lacked continuity until now.

He’s too limited. We cant have midfielders who can only contribute defensively.
We had him against Ajax last season and he did nothing. Its better to have players who can control the ball than a headless chicken who run and run without a aim.
We seen it in both games against lazio aswell were we got dicked twice and he was horrible in both games breaking every attack we had. Rab,ben, and pjanic thats the midfield just play it !

I think we will when Bent is back. Also could see Can getting more minutes as a physical presence.

I think its pretty impressive about the form of some players that really matter.
1. Ronaldoi is on top form
2. Dybala is back to being elite as is Higgy
3 Demiral and MDL have grown nicely for being young and hes done a good job rotating especially with the Chiellini injury.
4. Bonucci looks back to being good. I dont think hes great but playing up to his personal level
5. Rabiot starting to look better and capable of contributing.
6.Pjanic and Bentancur looking better than they have in a bit and more consistant.

Midfield is still a concern but not necessarily even personnel. I think we have to find a balance of attack and defense and our mid and mostly AM is the key for that. Hopefully we can get it sorted especially if Costa comes back. Him and Ramsey are the key for this team to make the next jump. The fate of our season will be in the effectiveness of those two players IMO

Off form. When on form, hes comfortably better than anything Rabiot has shown so far.
Blaise will always be better runner and defender than Rabiot. But our left side is dead when he plays. Sandro has no one to play with unless CR drifts there. Rabiot doesn’t need to do the same amount of running though, we can offset it with Ramsey in the middle and Rodrigo on the right.

It definitely would take some tactical adjustment to fit that version of Cesc in someone's team. Maybe if you were allowed 12 players on the pitch or something.

Matuidi also offers a lot of dynamism when we have the ball, when he's in good form he's definitely not useless in posession. I think our best lineup for big CL games is smth like this:

Woj
Cuads-Bonu-Demi-Sandro
Benta-Pjanič-Matuidi
Costa
Dybala-Ronaldo
