swapping spinazzola for a nobody that we loaned out immediately was arguably the single most idiotic move of the post-vidal era, and there's some competition. we should have simply accepted city's swap offer for cancelo in june (which we accepted anyway) and sell rugani instead of spina.
Its quite ridiculous
Spina is homegrown, and would be able to be registered in UCL easily. They swap with Pellegrini and wasted it by loaning him. Also Spina is also become a bench player for Kolarov in Roma

Too early to tell but Im getting this vibe as well. Defensively this is one of the worst Juve sides Ive seen. Which is absurd considering we have quality players in defense.
The defence has not been this bad the past 8 seasons.. lots of work ahead..

Can someone remind me why we chose Sarri as coach ahead of others?

Will we play with 3 center back against SPAL? Alex Sandro on leave to mourn his father

Demiral Bonucci De Ligt
Cuadrado - Rabiot - Pjanic - Ramsey - Matuidi
Dybala - Higuain

Jesus, one game without us losing at least one player and I will convert to Christianity.

RIP

Pellegrini was and is considered the bigger talent, objectively so and without conjecture. Not that older Spin post-injury wasn't good for us or we couldn't use him now.

I don't follow the logic in Cancelo part, but if that happened, you would've complained that we caved and submitted to City's demands quickly.

Selling Rugani would've left us with 3 CBs. That's suggesting solving one problem (which might even be less of a problem - maybe they had two roles in mind for 7th CM Can and also Demiral, first wait & see) and creating a big issue in another (in a more important position to boot).

Why does ESPN hate Juve so much lol?

We are only one of five teams in the top 5 leagues in Europe not to have lost a game in all comps so far, the others being Inter, Bayern, RB Leipzig and Athletic Bilbao.

cause its not a sexy enough team for the casual viewer. this is what Agnelli is talking about how juventus is not as appealing to casual and plastic fans as Barca or City but it needs to close that gap if it wants to close the revenue gap

hence Ronaldo, new logo/shirt, and Sarriball

Sarri Recap #JuveSPAL

- No 3 man back line
- Mandzukic out as agreed with the club
- We'll see about Emre Can
- No CB at LB :cuc:
- Delighted to have Barzagli back, he'll work with defenders
- Current formation is a necessity
- Rabiot needs time
- CR7, Dybala & Pipa can play together :vozbud:

DEFENSIVE SET-UP

First up, speaking on our defensive set-up, the manager spoke these words:

“It's difficult for me to consider playing with three defenders at the back. We have tried out other solutions and tomorrow we will decide."
This comes after our difficult start to the season dealing with injuries to our back line. It is no secret that captain, Chiellini will be out for the majority of the season, whilst there are injuries to Danil and De Sciglio, Alex Sandro is absent for family reasons.
“Daniele Rugani is a player who can become important, it's up to him to make the most of the opportunities."

ANDREA BARZAGLI

La Roccia returned to Continassa this week and was announced as part of Sarri’s coaching staff. Still on the subject of defending, it was made clear by the manager that Barzagli has one particular duty to fulfil.
“I had already spoken with Andrea Barzagli back in June and we are very happy to have him back amongst the staff. His first assignment will be to look after the defensive phase of some of the players.”

THE ATTACK

So far this season, our attack has been strong enough to earn us four Serie A wins out a potential five and Sarri can see a potential great season with three players in-particular.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is world-class, and Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala have the technical qualities and can work together with him, in pairs and as a three in certain stages of the match.

“Different players can play in behind, like Paulo Dybala and Federico Bernardeschi. The formation that we are using right now is born out of necessity."

FULL SPEED TO SPAL

SPAL will prove to provide some difficulties tomorrow afternoon and will surely frustrate both our attack and defensive and Mister Sarri is fully aware of the challenge ahead.
“The game against SPAL is a difficult one. I think they will come here with a good attitude and want to put in a great performance.”
And having gone down by a goal in our last two fixtures, we do not want a repeat performance on Saturday…
"We will certainly improve our approach to games." says Mister Sarri.

"Danilo showed a mild lesion of the biceps femoris of the left thigh. De Sciglio also underwent diagnostic tests that have not yet shown a complete recovery. Both will be available again after the international break." [Juventus]
