A lot depends on the player himself. I think he's pretty comfortable with the salary he is currently getting. The only defenders getting more are Alaba and Varane I believe. If he wants to stay and the only way for us to do it is to extend at a similar number then he will have to agree. Otherwise he can go.

Still, not seeing many teams willing to offer him this kind of money.

No not really, you will never win the UCL with a midfield containing Rabiot. To assess the De Ligt business you must look at the bigger picture and not just his transfer.

We can do and win without him if we have a world class attack and midfield, between Bremer, Bonucci and Chiellieni as well as Romagnoli or another signing our defense will do, with all due respect to De Ligt we are not replacing Nesta but rather the potential of it.

Imagine you sell him and get SMS for 70 and sign Pogba for free, reinforce the back with Bremer, Romagnoli and Lodi, now that is a team capable of winning the UCL!

I would stay the fuck away from Pogba. He is damaged goods.

remember what raiola said back in november-december? an agent rarely acts on his own, without the consent of his client. that's why i think de ligt will be gone in the summer.
That might be true, however, the morale of the team was different back then. The successful winter mercato brought back the enthusiasm. What I'm saying is if MDL likes it here and we have an ambitious long term project based on the most talented young players in Europe he simply might want to stay.

According to 'La Repubblica', #Juventus could 'accept' 90mln€ to let Matthijs #deLigt go. In case the Dutch leaves, the names to substitute him are: #Romagnoli, #Rudiger, #Botman and #Bremer.

Needs to work on his finishing.
i actually encountered this opinion in a local fb group. the guy was dead serious and said that de ligt already made 10's of millions of euros from football, he should be able to kill off sitters even though it's not part of his job description. i kinda agree to a point.

anyway, de ligt still played a good match, i think he was our best defender yesterday.

He had a moment when he ran forward and made a great defense splitting pass to the left. The kind of pass that unlocks a defense. Problem is that the receiver was Alex Sandro so he didn't do anything interesting with it

He had a amazing game yesterday, I voted him as MOTM.

De Ligt during the period that he was at Ajax he received a lot of praise for the things he did besides defending; scoring and giving good passes.

Yesterday for the first time since he’s here I saw him rushing into the midfield whenever two of our mids dropped back too much and the opportunity arose.

Attacking he was a threat, almost had a assist to McKennie who was unfortunate to hit the post. Can’t think of a mistake he defensively made either, somehow many didn’t see what he actually did yesterday.
