If it funds Vlahovic + Bremer then that's probably worth it, to be honest.
I dont know about Bremer but Im sure we will get a defender if we sell him which is likely.
To be honest while he is a great defender, I expected him to grow and be much better by now. There is no way his showings justified his 85M we paid for him.
We will get a new CB, I have no doubt about it.
Bremer? Maybe, but there are other players we might target.

It would be disappointing to lose him now especially when he's only 23. Given his current form, I don't know which club would be willing to pay €100M.
My prediction is he extends his contract, lowers his release clause and leaves in summer 2023.

Don’t want De Jong at all. Hasn’t been particularly impressive for Barcelona. Give me an SMS type midfielder and we fine.
I agree. He mostly plays centrally, closer to defense and for that you can easily find solutions in Italy, plenty of players like that. Even Rovella and Fagioli could be considered as backups for Loca. Then, Jorginho would cost a fraction of FDJ.

We definitely need a box to box that assists/scores, for example SMS.

the problem with de jong is that he'd be redundant. i like him though, he's a well rounded player. but as some of you mentioned, we need different profiles. we're full of mids who can pass the ball accurately within a 10 meter radius, but we have zero who can dribble past an opponent or register an assist out of nothing.

as for de ligt, for me he's gone in the summer, and it's fine provided we spend those funds wisely. even though i'm a huge fan and consider him one of the best cb's for the next decade, he's by far the most costly player in the league, and we should have other priorities. i'd swap him for bremer and sms without thinking twice. (in case sms is even possible, i still have my reservations, lotito would be a bitch to deal with, no wonder we didn't even try in the last decade.)

Yes he is.
De Ligt is a younger, fit player in demand with his prime ahead; Dybala is a luxury player who never peaked and never will anymore.

de Ligt is the most valuable defender in the world.

I'm not sure if there are any other defenders in the world that are paid as much as him (probably Alaba, Varane and Ramos make more). While the transfer fee we paid for him is probably fair, his salary is just too much. That makes it hard for us to renew. What remains to be seen is if any of the other clubs can offer him considerably more wages. United, PSG and Real might.

And Chelsea, they have spent quite a bit already and will be in dire need of CBs come Summer. Imagine they can lose all their starters + Thiago Silva who is not a youngster anymore too.
