I agree.

Personally I don't think he'll cut it. He's soft, slow, very poor agility.

His current situation, according to reliable Brazil sources, is:

Juve have NOT payed 2M for him yet. There was an agreement that this would happen until Apriil 20th. But the official offer never came to Flamengo.

So his agents are a little bit anoyed with the situation. The kid wants to go to Juve, his agents wanna score, the club wants to score. But apparently Juve "disappeared". His contract ends in the end of the year. If the official offer takes too much longer to come, the agents will restart talks with Flamengo for a contract renewal.

I guess Juventus directors are not sure of this kid's potential. And they are right. 2M for him, who has practically no experience in professional football, and when he played he was shit, within 6 months from contract's expiring? That's too much.

I wouldn't do it if I was the board. Hope they've given up.

As said above, it makes no sense to buy 10 unproven kids for 2M. It has to be only for the real special ones. Mattheus is not of them.

Based on the very little i've seen of him playing for Flamengo, he didn't look that special. On the other hand, he barely has any professional experience so it's hard to tell what he might become. We, Brazilians (that includes you, Pedro), seem to always focus on whether a player has flair or not, it's our way and sometimes that's not all a player needs. Ganso was a top player a couple years back before his injuries and he was slow, soft and not that agile, instead he was intelligent, a good passer and a quick thinker.

I say let Bebetinho get some pro experience first so we can start judging.

Pedro, you're being biased just because he's a Flamenguista, admit it ;)

The agent denies everything Mattheus: "Juve took us around, there is no more negotiation"

The agent denies everything Mattheus: "Juve took us around, there is no more negotiation" Twist in the deal Mattheus: Notwithstanding released in the last days, the player's agent of Flamengo, Vantuil Goncalves, denied the statements made in recent days in Lancenet! about the next step of his client with Juventus. A Globe agent Fifa has totally changed version: "There is no more negotiation between the parties, the leaders of Juventus took us all around. They always say that they will send the last document to close the deal, but they never do and repeat it for some time. We are still waiting, before we were told they had to think about the Champions League games, though it's been three weeks after their elimination and has not arrived yet nothing about the documentation. Both Flamengo that the boy remained there bad and are quite irritated by the situation. Yet I am disappointed and angry, as far as I'm
concerned I did not do anything. "

He will arrive in December if not in January. There's just a problem between Flamengo & Juve. Not Juve & Mattheus.

Haha unfortunately not. You talked about Ganso, look what Ganso, with similar characteristics, have become.... nothing. And Ganso is far more talented and has better feet IMO. Much quicker with the feet.

I wouldn't base anything on that Osman, as fans get very bitter when a young player leaves them, I know a lot of Man United fans that were all adamant that Pogba wasn't good enough and had a $#@!ty attitude, and now they are admitting that he was always class...it's the same with Llorente, i spoke to an ex Athletic Bilbao player (Patxi Salinas) and first he told me Llorente is amazing, and when I told him that I support Juve and can't for him to join, he said meh he is a $#@! player (then laughed and had a shot with me haha)
Every United fan I know, and I have known a fair few since I lived in Manchester, and have found Man U supporters everywhere in England, thought that Pogba was going to be special. He was stunning for their youth team. When it appeared that he was leaving, then the comments changed a little, with critical references to his attitude, never his potential talent. It should be enough for a player to be told he has a major future at the club, but in Pogba's case it wasn't. With a little help from Raiola, he not only increased his wages, but also moved to a club on the up who have given him immense exposure in his first season. Would he have got that at United??? Probably not. Is it because he isn't good enough? Probably not. Ferguson has his set in stone ideas of how quickly he will show confidence in the younger players. It takes time with him, but when he gets it right...As Alan Hansen will confirm...it works a a treat! I don't see Pogba as a mercenary, we are hardly paying him crazy wages. Considering how much he has played, he is surely due a large pay rise in the Summer.

He will arrive in December if not in January. There's just a problem between Flamengo & Juve. Not Juve & Mattheus.

That has been my opinion since January, Melo. It seems the 'one document missing' quote was recycled recently from earlier this year.

The Flamengo director of sport said recently 'Deve ancora arrivare un documento dall'Italia, ma possiamo considerare ormai tutto concluso. L'accordo tra le parti è praticamente definito".

    Still, who knows eh!

I maintain my interest in seeing him at Piedmont. It will be another intriguing signing to add to the blossoming youth ranks. And we have to agree that our primavera is in good hands. Winning the league stage of the championship with 3 games to spare is a wonderful feat for the lads...I hope they progress through to win the knock-out stage.
