The climate of our club in regards to youth has changed dramatically over the last year or two. We have invested very heavily and will continue to do so. if a player is good enough, they now have a much greater chance of finding opportunity in the first team squad, due to increased synergy between Conte, Baroni, Marotta and Paratici.

Giovinco, Marchiso, Marrone and De Ceglie...four players of our first team squad have been out on loan and returned. Two of those players are first XI regulars. Not bad for a top club challenging for top honours domestically and in continental competition.
how many kids from the Marotta/Paratici era have broken into the 1st team though?

I remain skeptical.

It is an exciting 2m punt on the beautiful left foot of the son of a wicked player and brazilian legend...why not roll such a dice eh?

He's definitely coming. He refused to renew the contract with them. Juve will pay some (I guess 2M) but if we'd waited till the end of the year he'd leave for free.

Honestly, I don't think it's worthy... 2M is too much for him. Hopefully I'm wrong.

They say there's just a document missing to complete the signing.

How many years do Marotta and Paratici have behind them working for Juventus?

Besides, if a kid manages to break into this Juventus first team we will know we have a world-class prospect in our hands.

Apparently, he is heading to Italy shortly for his medical. It makes sense to bring him in over the Summer rather than wait until his contract expires at the end of the year. This way we Conte and Baroni can have a good look at him, help him settle into life at Piedmont and perhaps find him a loan club to play for next season. It will be interesting to see whether he stays with the primavera or continues to play at a senior level as he was doing at Flamengo before their season ended...The same can be said of Appelt though, given his appearances for Resende. Still, the aim will surely be to get him playing at competitive senior level as soon as possible. It would be nice to see Appelt, Mattheus and Bonatini all at the same team! Chuck in a bit of Chibsah for good measure, maybe a sprinkle of Masi and Leali.

Leali
Untersee Masi Rugani Magnusson Laursen
Mattheus Chibsah Appelt
Beltrame Bonatini

SUBS-
Branescu, Garcia, Buoy, Schiavone, Boakye, Padovan, Sakor.

I wonder how that team would do in Serie B.

Since his contract renewal dropped, Flamengo hasn't really played Mattheus. His experience in professional football is very thin.

He'll be 19 in July. It would be better for him to play for Primavera first. He would be eaten alive in Italian Serie B or Lega Pro. Needs to toughen up to stand a chance to succeed.

We totally need a 'Juventus B' on Serie B

No surprise for an 18 year old, really. Especially one challenging for one of the offensive positions against much older, more experienced players. Its probably best, as you say PedroFlu, to give him at least up until christmas in the primavera. Appelt and Buoy both went out at 18, as did several others. With the latter hardly having any professional experience in Holland prior to his arrival here...

Perhaps if he excels under Baroni we can farm him out in the New Year. Only time will tell.

I wonder what other interesting youngsters from abroad fabio and Beppe have their eager eyes upon?

Bouy didn't have professional experience in Ajax.

Mattheus has a very interesting left foot based on clips. But that seems to be it, asked Flamengo fan in another forum and he was adamant about this kid being nothing special.

I wouldn't base anything on that Osman, as fans get very bitter when a young player leaves them, I know a lot of Man United fans that were all adamant that Pogba wasn't good enough and had a shitty attitude, and now they are admitting that he was always class...it's the same with Llorente, i spoke to an ex Athletic Bilbao player (Patxi Salinas) and first he told me Llorente is amazing, and when I told him that I support Juve and can't for him to join, he said meh he is a shit player (then laughed and had a shot with me haha)

Fans become bitter when they lose a big talent they dont want to sell, like Pogba (easy to differentiate that), Flamengo wants to sell Mattheus, and this guy wasnt bitter/vindictive or such, just plainly gave me a level headed run down of his career so far and his honest assessment of what he has seen of him, which is pretty much nothing special in overall, except a delicate left foot. Basically said most of the same things Pedro Flu, our residential brasil scouting maestro :)P) said about this player in last months.

One could try with a 2m € player or go for the big and spend 20m €. I don't see why 10x2m € players would be worse then one 20m € player. Ofc a player like Oscar is more promising then a Mattheus Oliveira but im also pretty sure none would want us to sign Oscar-kind of players for 20m €!!!

There are risks of getting nothing but a forever talent player, but he also might be a very good buy... One thing is for certain; if Juve made an offer they must have scouted him enough to know what he's got.

And Marchisio only got the chance to break through because we played in Serie B and had a coach like Dechamps. With Lippi in Serie A there wouldn't have been a Marchisio!
