Admitting that you're wrong is never a bad thing and no one is perfect, every person got an opinion and he's entitled to it, as long as i respect your opinion you're supposed to respect mine.
I agree its good to admit when you're wrong but you need to not go over the top with the things you say and make sure they're right before you say them.

From and objective point of view. Molinaro isn't nearly as bad as you make out. He was quite good defensively and at times very good. The whole season you could see he improved in that department. Sure he can't cross for shit, but its not exactly his job as a defender anyway if he stops his opponents from scoring then I'll be content until we get a new LB who can do it all.

Already said number don't show much, and defending is not just making tackles, numbers won't show his extreme stupidity when it come to marking, or his utter idiocy in covering and ruining the off-side trap and costing us a goal, numbers won't show the points we lost because of him, or his inability to pass and how many times he has given the ball away, i can't even believe i am having this argument.
With all due respect, but nothing of the kind happened last year. His marking was at least ok and he ruined the offside trap only once or twice (both times when there were changes in the back 4 and when Legrottaglie wasn't commanding the defense).
The offside trap we played last year would make an interesting debate. We even talked about it once last season. It worked perfect when the back 4 were : Grygera-Legro-Chiellini-Molinaro. The moment Chiellini was injured and Legro played on the left side of the CB pair, Grygera started making terrible offside mistakes.
There is much more to this and it's not the place to discuss it. What i'm trying to say is that Molinaro last year fucked up the offside trap less than anyone else in our defense ( which was the opposite in 2007/08 when Moli was the record holder in fucking up the offside trap).

You really have a weak case if you want to accuse Molinaro for his defending last year. If you look at it without any bias whatsoever, you will see that the guy did a decent job. Not only that he was finally using his speed and stamina smartly, but he also improved in other aspects of the defense.

You'll have a great case if you start doubting his attacking qualities and his usefullness in a 4-3-1-2 formation where he'll have to contribute a lot in attack. In your place, if i want to criticize Molinaro, that is where i'd concentrate and point the criticism.

It's not over the top from my point of view, Molinaro improved from -100 to 0? he's not suited to play and compete at that level i can't even call him mediocre. And sorry i think he's clueless defensively, he's the defensive version of Martins, the guy got no brain, he can't think, no vision, can't mark, his off-ball movements are crap, sure he can tackle but thats only about it, as i said defending isn't only making tackles, and football isn't only measured in numbers how many times some crappy players got better numbers than world class players. Numbers count but not by themselves, and at the end of the day thats my opinion and we're just fans, hold me accountable for what i say or think when i am in charge of the club, but i am not and you're not and thank god for that.

What do you mean by "cost"?

Chiellini certainly made mistakes last season but come on here, why is everybody taking the side of Molinaro now? One could easily say Molinaro cost us more goals because of his poor crosses and bad passing, thus breaking up our attacks.

Guaranteed, the problem will be even worse next season when he has no help on the flanks. The only reason why he did OK to some people is because Nedved was always there helping him out, giving him an outlet nearby if he got into trouble. Now once we start playing the 4-3-1-2 where the 80% of the wing play comes from the fullbacks, do we honestly expect Molinaro to provide consistent good service for us? Has he ever done so in the past?

If not, why expect him to provide it now when he will receive even more opportunities to mess up? That's what I call blind optimism.

We simply cannot take the chance of having that talent-less footballer be our number one LB in that system. We simply can't. He's too haphazard and doesn't have the natural ability.

I think there is a danger that this may become a rather meaningless thread about two relatively average players who are well past their prime.

Zebina had a good Scudetto season in 2004/2005. That was it!

Time to focus on Santacroce, Cacares or better.

Otherwise it'll end up like baboons fighting for the last banana.

BS news. You just cant trade champion like Trez with mediocre RB from AC Nursing Home. Fuck that. Even Zebina is better than this guy.
