All i know is that unless they are injured or fatigued to the point they can no longer stand on their feet when you are chasing the game to score a late winner you just simply do not take out your €80M+ striker, and neither do you take off the one winger that actually manages to dribble and take opponents on, no matter how frustrating their end product is at times, you just don’t do it when your replacements are Milik and McKenie in their exact same roles…

Not saying that i know better, but you just don’t when you need a late goal, Cuadrado for better or worst has a track record of saving us at the last moments while Vlahovic is literally our only guarantee of someone capable of scoring a goal out of this lot.
:agree:

Thank you. If we were winning in the 80-85th minute, that’s one thing. Bringing on fresh legs to see out a 1-0 win. 1-1 is entirely different and the subs were beyond stupid. I mean. Maybe take off one of Cuads and Miretti but not both lol. And especially not Vlahovic. It’s like some are thinking 22 year old Vlahovic and 19 year old Miretti don’t have 90 minutes in their legs. Wtf is wrong with our fitness training if this is the case. And it’s not like either of them ran themselves into the ground tonight.

I dunno. We’ve regressed compared to last season and we look just as flaky as ever. We definitely aren’t challenging for the title that’s for sure. But I wouldn’t count on us making top 4 for sure. Not with this version of Allegri, this crop of players and our injury issues.
Maybe Allegri isnt the man to continue with us past this season but I feel we ll pick ourselves up as the season goes on. There is still too much quality in the team compared to the other teams in the league. Im not worried for 4th place but for Scudetto, which should be our goal.

Like seriously.. the player that should have come in when Rabiot was taken out was Rovella, he looked so lively and wanted to really offer something and test romas mid and defense.
Then Taking Cuads off when Sandro was still on the field is just disgraceful, Sandro always need to come off before Cuads, cos cuads can still take that RB and give DeScig the LB... Sandro always napping in defense and dont offer anything going up its so ugly to watch..

I really want to see the 3 Italians in midfield
Loca Rovella Miretti/Fagioli

I knew when they disallowed the 2nd goal we needed to get that 2nd goal else it was gonna bite us in the ass..

Fully fit we have the best starting 11 in the league. Even with our shitty fullbacks. But we all know we never have a fully fit team. Also something has happened to this team in terms of holding on to leads and taking advantage against opponents that are there for the taking.

This is not how any (good) coach in the world operates or should operate. You have the team for a reason, you have to manage all of them, not just the fan favorites. Some of the most important goals last decade were scored by players no one expected. From Pepe, Estigarribia, Giaccherini, Sturaro, Matuidi etc.

Ofc he can physically last, but he was visibly tired and started making mistakes and wasn't moving as well anymore. It's not a marathon, you have to do something with the ball too

Sure, Di Maria can come back and grab us some wins. It will probably happen. But putting our hopes on a 36 year old to make things happen isn’t building a team.
34, dude. And Chiesa should be back in November so I expect massive improvements with those two playing either side of Vlahovic. Dusan has 3 goals in 3 matches. Looking good so far this year, but we need attackers to create more chances for him to bury. Once we have Chiesa and Di Maria if we don’t create those chances and start tearing up most of the teams in this league, I’ll be fully aboard the Allegri out train too.

And that’s the scariest thing of all. What happens if we don’t improve and Allegri does resign or get fired? Then we’re stuck with a huge mess again.

If I was the board, I would put a spending freeze on right now. Either he works with what he has, including the youngsters, or he’s gone. No Parepiss, no other signings. Work it out or GTFO.
The board has backed Allegri big time this season by signing one too many 'experienced' players.

Unfortunately, we can't reverse that. Pogba and Paredes could just as easily be the next Rabiot and Ramsey until unless Allegri works miracles.

But so far, given how fragile this team is mentally, I'm not expecting much.

This is not the old team that Allegri is using. He's setting us up to be ultra defensive then will count on Di Maria and Vlahovic to score. It's clear from the Kostic signing, the reason why he wants Paredes too - control the game and always have defensive cover.

Where are the creative players? Is this guy blind to how Fiorentina used Vlahovic with their mediocre squad? I mean Roma were pretty quiet but this is exactly how we get dumped out of CL against second tier teams, we have very little attacking ability or intent.

I don't get the argument about injuries either, it's part of the game and poor planning if you only depend on Chiesa and Di Maria.

The old Rabiot isnt even out the door and we're already bringing in a worthy successor :D

How do we have the best team in the league when we have the worst defense and gk(Tek) of all big clubs.
