Every team in the world would miss a player like Chiesa. Especially ours, a team trying to find our ways. Real Madrid wouldn't be the same team without Benzema. Liverpool wouldn't be the same team without Salah, City wouldn't be the same team without Kevin, and we're not the same team without Chiesa.
Ronaldo left basically couple of days before the season began. Whatever Allegri was working on (probably a devastating counter attacks with Chiesa), had to be reset. 14 days into the season Chiesa tears his knee. Our attack we had in mind for the season vaporised into thin air. Which means another reset for Allegri. Now 14 days into the season. Now the season begins to be about finding a new balance. Which wasn't easy as we were leaking goals left, right and centre.
Now we've managed a balance. We're solid. But we lack any sense of how to attack yet. That's gonna take longer to figure out. And i'm sure Chiesa is gonna be heavily included. I have a feeling that Chiesa is about to become our number 10. And he's about to be exploited by Allegri. Chiesa was the absolute best player of the Euros Italy won. The world fell in love with Chiesa during that tournament. He's on another level on his day.
Next season is gonna be 4-4-1-1. We're gonna invite teams to come at us. Vlahovic is gonna use his physicality and Chiesa will exploit the spaces that it creates. Just that alone can result in 1.5 goals per game. But in games where a team locks up against us, that's what i'm interested to see, and am gonna judge Allegri on after next season. Not now, after this freak of a season. It was damage control from the beginning of the season.
It was interesting to hear Allegri talk about needing 3 new players. I have vague idea of what those positions are. If these positions get replaced by quality. We're talking, and good luck beating us.
We need a quality left back, and a quality midfielder who's capable of passing a football, (i was really hoping for Guimaraes)
