Jan 2020 in Bentancurs thread:

Was talking specifically about the Sarri season. Seems like the 2020 version of you agrees.
:p
Yeah, Bentancur was really good during that season but both Pjanic and Matuidi were without a doubt more useful and important than Rabiot. Rabiot only found some form towards the very tail end of the season.

One key difference is also Marotta. He is excellent at building squads.
Rebuilding also takes time. It happened before to us in the past before Lippi came for his first spell for example. We reacted to late and when we reacted, we did it very aggressively with sending the old guard away last year. And we’re stuck with some unsellable players.

In a way it is a exiting time, if we take all the talents serious. I’m wondering if there has ever been a Juve so filled with youngsters.

Very few have, in fact only really conte springs to mind, certainly in terms of instant results. Even Ferguson took a number of years to build Utd up and Klopp took a couple of years to build Liverpool up
At least those managers you named built their squad with an identity, what's allegri's identity? He's always been about trying to adapt to the opposition hence why someone like Allegri won't build anything decent aside from wanting a squad of hard working utility players with technical deficiencies

krasic, martinez and armand traore were a great start. If it wasn't for Conte we'd have signed Gokhan Inler instead of Vidal

He also wanted Boriello more than Del Piero
At least boriello proved more decisive than anelka and bendtner.

You mention conte in the post I quoted you in initially as someone to model, then you make a statement like this as an Allegri criticism which is basically all that conte would do.

Our whole history has been built on hard working players. Sure we’ve had quality players but we’re not a galactic team, we’re a club of grinta, hard work and effort. In that way the Allegri you talk about suits our philosophy perfectly. Right now I would kill for this kind of squad as opposed to the lazy overpaid waste of spaces that were assembled by the paratici era

You're not getting the point, Conte at least has certain patterns of play, Klopp has a particular style and patterns of play, Pep etc... What's Allegri's? It's just lets just adapt the best we can because he doesn't seem to believe in any sort of philosophy other than hope for the fucking best.
