Under normal circumstances, it would have overshadowed a thrilling 2-0 victory against lowly Genoa. However, Morata has been poor all season, and only has himself to blame for being butthurt that someone else can’t carry his performances.

But he wasn't bad today and created many opportunities. Too bad he did not score, but his replacement barely touched the ball in 25 minutes.

Supercoppa aside, I don't see an incredibly hard game in the league until Milan on January 23rd. Venezia, Bologna, Cagliari, Napoli at home, Roma away, Udinese. If we play like this we have the capacity to win them all, then let's see where we are vs Milan away.

Should have a signing at least until then too.

there is no doubt we would near the top of the table with Ronaldo up front. Failing to replace him, or even half of him really messed us up bad.

Last week we had the worst goals/xGoals ratio in the league. I’m sure this match made it worse.

We’d still be an unbalanced, mediocre team, and Allegri hasn’t helped matters so far this year with all his tinkering and insistence on fitting Rabiot into the starting XI so often, but we’d be up near top of the table with a proper finisher up front.
