I know, that's a grim outlook what I'm about to write. But I honestly don't know what people have been smoking when they say this squad is top 2. Do you guys see the type of performances these players have given the last two years. Bentancurs, Rabiots, McKennies, Szczesnys, Kulusevskis, Bernas, inconsistent forwards. Some squads like Atalanta and Milan are underrated since they have less known players, which however had worthwhile outputs (and thats the only thing that counts). Valueing potential when that never materializes, thats just FM and FIFA stuff.

However we indeed have been unlucky this season and could have had more points. Something to have in mind, but we still have to show more.

For this to be best squad in the league would require a lot of players consistently performing at a level they haven’t ever consistently performed at in some cases , and haven’t performed at in years in other cases.

How would we objectively compare the quality of the squads anyways? None of us even watches all our Serie A rivals consistently enough to have a reasonable subjective opinion on it. I think for many such rankings are solely based on name recognition which obviously isn't a very good/accurate way of comparing the quality of them.

This one killed me. I remember this moment in the game, Chiesa and Kulu switch sides and go to 433 and the very next possession they're back in 442, then next one go back to 433. Level of confusion and mental mistakes in tight moments is astonishing.

Thats a bit circular reasoning tbh. If we win the league then this is the strongest squad but if we don't then its not. It is possible that this coach fails to bring more out of these players and another coach would have. Similar to how Lukaku, Sanchez, Young, Darmian and others went into a higher level last year than they've been at for the few years prior. Ofc its also possible that him and any other coach would fail cause they are truly finished/poor.

Do you think Rabiot, Bentacur, Arthur, Ramsey, Kulu, Berna can do better than they have been showing since they joined us? Or are you implicitly saying that if Allegri can't get them more out of them, no one can?

Nah, Pirlo was always a back and forth. No constant improvement. Same shit all season.

The results aren't there yet, but don't tell me we aren't improving in how the team plays.

Maybe we are improving. I don’t really count the Malmo match though as they are possibly the worst side in the CL. I just find it funny how we suddenly shifted from years of “only results matter” to now performances matter because we don’t have results yet. And it was like one match.

I’m not expecting miracles from Max, I know he’ll do everything to make this team successful, but if this doesn’t happen this year, the management will realize the hard way that the team really needs more quality. No matter what happens, we must continue with Max, another drastic change and we’ll fall right back into the dark ages.

I get your point but I believe he earned that free pass for his past achievements and the significant piece of history he wrote for the club.

Pirlo could not receive the same treatment due to his lack of experience, it was never going to work, maybe if we had a more experienced manager for that style of football but Juve is not a place for learning alphabet. As for Sarri, he just wasn’t a good fit culturally.

I think Allegri was hired at the wrong time with the wrong squad, it doesn’t mean he’s the wrong person for the job. It will take longer this time to make an impact, the team he’s inherited is far from functional.

Allegri is a guarantee, we know he is a quality manager and we know he is capable of turning the situation around. The same cannot be said of an inexperienced pirlo and and old man Sarri that had won 1 trophy in his entire career.

There’s talk of it in this thread but really how good are these players, what is their level? We might think our famous players like Rabiot, Ramsey, Arthur, Kuludeschi & Bernadeschi are ‘quality’ players but Reputation aside these players have proven to be bang average footballers. Serie A is littered with harder working players with better quality than what Juventus have.

Allegri doesn’t get a free pass, he needs to stand up to scrutiny and if these results continue of course he has to go but we need to be realistic here. This was a top 4 team last year and we have weakened. CL qualification is a genuine achievement with the sack of shit we have

He invented double pivot for Khedira and Pjanic when none thought it could work, pretty sure he will work something with this squad, but how long can it take? always though that for the midfield u need players with different characteristics to complement each other. Maybe Arthur will really save our season and create great duo with Loca? who knows.
He also needs to get Kean and Kulu back to form, they will be crucial for us, because we all know Morata cant be a serial killer and Dybala wont play all games.
Still thinking we could go with:

This squad shows really that there is no place for McKennie and Ramsey in that team unless they are Dybala/Winger sub when we want to defend, but one player for that role would be enough.
