What i miss about him is not selling us bullshit, he knew what he had at his disposal and played accordingly without ever claiming to play spectacular or entertaining, his aim was to win at all costs which went really well with the club’s mentality and it worked out for most parts, perhaps with a few key additions in midfield he could have taken us even more far, that unfortunately we will never know as things stand.

However, what i really dislike is dumb comparisons between Juventus now and previous seasons, difference is the guy in change now is promising and claiming something while delivering something totally opposite, and recently also without the results which gives everyone the right to be as pessimistic as most of us are rn, there’s no defending this crap.

As much as I dislike Sarri, that's not really true though, is it?

Remind me what was he brought here for? He isn’t saying it now because he lost the game and been extremely poor for months now, but even after most scrapped by wins remind me what was the general consensus from him and management? I thought they were saying we are adapting and seeing signs of Sarri’s ‘masterclass’ taking shape is it not?

Afaik, he was brought here to implement a different style of play, while keeping up with past results. But that's a management decision.
I don't recall Sarri himself making any bold claims in terms of results, style, etc. Well, no positive claims at least :D

Regardless, a lot of people, sadly including the ones at the top, wanted to change things up. Mission accomplished.

I agree in hindsight, however for example after the Udinese B-team and Cagliari smashings i don’t remember him saying nothing about players not following his instructions and other excuses etc... i bet at the time he was cocky about imposing his ‘philosophy’ on them minnows.

Anyway, what i mean is he did say that’s mostly why he is here, to change philosophy and not only bla bla, whereas only thing changed is that he managed to make us look weaker defensively and even more disjointed offensively imo, which is contradictory with the very reason he was brought here, there’s no fluidity or clear plan to our game and that’s the least you’d expect he’d get at least partially right by now.

While it's easy to miss him because Sarri is a hobo, we only played a bit better under him last season (although the mid was even crappier)
BS. We were the best team in Europe first half of last season. Then injuries and crap midfield did their thing.

We were only ever this bad under Allegri last season post-Ajax when there was nothing left to play for and first 2 months of that 15/16 season.

I disagree.

We looked lethargic and unmotivated most of last season too. Every match was a struggle to stay awake but we were better at grinding results because we conceded less.

After United loss, team went into auto pilot mode, doing minimum to achieve positive results. I feel something was broken the moment Marotta left the club. Still Max knew how to setup a team and grind results. Chiellini's injury and lack of adequate backup really screwed us over. We would have never lost against Ajax if Chiellini had been playing. Rugani is huge liability. Current team though looks about to concede every time opposition ventures forward. If we at least compensated this with more fluid movements in attack, more opportunities, people would calm down. But this season we have gone backwards in every aspect of the game.

Our team really lost its shape after the sale of Pogba and Vidal. I still think we overachieved in 2017. In 2019 our lack of quality in the midfield became exposed and in 2020 it became further still. Allegri could not save this team, we should have strengthened in January but it's pretty much over now. Even if we get passed Lyon, there is little evidence to say we will get beyond the quarters.

I still consider his 4-2-3-1 the best Juventus I've ever seen in recent history. I've probably never enjoyed our football as much as back then. I still remember how we crushed Barcelona and Monaco those games. Too bad we had such a bad final, it would've been a historical (tactical) squad else.

Buffon
Dani Alves Bonuci Chiellini Alex Sandro
Pjanic Khedira
Cuadrado Dybala Mandzukic
Higuain

IMO he fucked up by moving Alves to RW/RM for the Monaco games (even tho we won) and the final.
