As great as Max has been it doesn't excuse him from figuring out a formation where Dybala+CR7 productively co-exist. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to find something that works. I know it's early but you don't keep Dybala on the bench unless you're trying to disenfranchise the guy and paving the golden path for his exit.

Or it could just be that Dybala isnt matchfit?

Everyone is focused on our attack and midfield - those will be figured out over time, and having multiple options is a good problem to have - but I'm more worried about our defense. Allegri will improve that over time too (perhaps at the cost of creativity/attacking prowess), he always does, but currently, all four positions in defense have weaknesses. Will they all improve?

Cancelo lead us to signing Ronaldo, that alone makes it a great signing. But our FBs overall are too attacking and not good enough defensively. This is why I wanted the RB signing to be another Howedes type more defensive player before CR7 rumors began. To balance out AS on the left and the attacking RB alternative in Cuadrado.

Press would sniff that out if that was the case. Plus, why waste the space on the squad list?

Also, why was Cancelo held out yesterday? Fitness? Or a favor for to his NT? Just curious.

Read Euromaxx post match comments on Dybala. Sounds like he isn't totally ready and Maxx is working him back in slowly.

I agree with this approach rather than starting him every game just to quiet those panicking about it.

It's only been three games.

He always experiments at the start of the season. He's prolly experimenting with the least likely to be best options now and will eliminate them one by one.

Think he said Dybala wasn't 100% physically yet.

Any formation he deploys that doesn't have CR7+Dybala on the field at the same time is more trash than treasure. Not sure what experiments he is running with what expected result.

But yes, it's early on in the season so I'll down a jar of chill pills and wash it down w/ bottle of ammonia

Yes you should, Douggie C is our best player anyways.

After the break if he doesn't start at least one between DC and Paulo I honestly feel we r gonna suffer a lot in UCL against Valencia and Manu... we r clearly better than them but they both r clearly better than Chievo and Parma and we all witness how bad was our game against those lesser teams

BTW RM, BM and Farca players were also in the WC and I don't see them making cheap excuses about it

My guess is, he doesn't know what formation he wants to play 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. He prefers 4-3-3, but he doesn't have good midfielders for that formation! I just hope we won't end up playing some 3-5-2!

Irrespective of the formation, he should go with whatever suits playing the triumvirate of CR7+Dyba+DC. He needs to figure out what works best with those 3 on the field

no need to overthink and over-engineer things here Max

The 9 points argument is meaningless to critics of Allegri (like myself).

We have by far the best squad in Serie A, it’s not even close. Any decent manager would win the league with this team.

Ancelotti won the Bundesliga with Bayern, but they still sacked him, because the football they played was bad.

Our standards should be the same. Winning Serie A is not enough, any competent manager could win Serie A with our squad. We should aim to play like a dominant force.
I was very satisfied with Juventus from 2011-2017.

The point is, I think that Allegri has hit a ceiling here. He’s running out of ideas and he doesn’t know how to improve the team any further. This doesn’t mean he’s a bad coach, it means we need a fresh start.

Back in 2013/14, you would be crucified for suggesting that we should replace Conte with Allegri, and yet it turned out to be a brilliant move for the club.

Reason with unreasonables,it's a waste of time.

The thing is (currently) it looks like we have some sort of "problem"
Dybala doesnt seem to work that great in a 4-3-3 formation while he does quite well with the 4-2-3-1
Pjanic is the exact opposite - Pjanic is fantastic in a 4-3-3 formation but doesnt seem that great with the 4-2-3-1
Another thing is 4-2-3-1 means we need strong CMs who can hold on this formation as it could be vulnerable when not playing it right
Another thing is Ronaldo as a winger is different from Ronaldo as a center forward
Winger Ronaldo does more but will probably score less while you might want to exploit his height and assassin skills of Ronaldo as a CF
Allegri will have a lot to think about but Im sure he will get it right - This is our year - Juve CL winners 2019!
