One thing far more important to figure out than the formation is about how to attack and how to counter attack.

Sending crosses to Ronaldo is idiotic attacking style.

Then our players have near zero tricks when attacking through the middle, that's why they hit many walls, unable to figure out solutions and resort to sending crosses.

But alas, allegri has been here for some years and look like nothing is improving about it.

Look at these, many weren't even resulted in goals, but why can't this team move like these?

Look at those, some of those players were "nobodies", they were able to do these, why our players almost never do such moves? The goals against Monaco and Madrid on the final were the only ones I could remember when we came close to that kind of creativity.

:howler:

Arsenal are full of tricks and link up play. When was the last time they won anything of note or had a season that wasn't an overall disappointment?

Sarri's Nipples play the best football in Europe and how often did they get past the Champions League group state? Even when they were competing with us in Serie A it never seemed likely they would actually finish above us.

Fancy football is not a guarantee of shit and vintage Barcelona is not something that you can just create/ emulate.

Are we not an attacking team?
LOL exactly. Since we've signed Higuain, there's been a clear indication (from board and the coach) that we are trying to be a more progressive/goal scoring sort of team and not merely a reactive defensive one.

Because we can win CL just by crossing the ball to Ronaldo?

Seriously though, some juventus fans are probably the only top club fans that are so triggered by entertaining football that it's so weird to see.

4-2-3-1 is thr best formation for us at the moment is we want to have all our best attacking player on the pitch. Otherwise, 3-5-2 is the second best formation with Dybala playing behind GOAT with our two very attacking full backs going forward while our midfield of Can----Pjanic-----Matuidi keeps things nice and tady. In thr 3-5-2 Bonbon will help Pjanic a lot in creating the gameplay which means a lot of pressure will be taken off of Pjanic. I hate -3-5-2 but at this point itsl could relly work well. However, in thr 3-5-2 Costa will warm the bench.

So far, 6 goals (7 if you count the own goal) scored in 3 games with 5 different players:

Mario (2), Matuidi (1), Bernie (1), Pjanic (1), and Sami (1)...half from "inconsistent" midfielders and a guy that some said lost his scoring touch.

Anyway, Max is getting the best from everyone it seems and if you recall last year, we had many different people score frequently rather than only a small handful. Our midfield is providing the support as well. 6 points of our 9 so far have come from our midfielders with Pjanic scoring the decisive goal vs Lazio and Blaise with the winner this last weekend.

3 games in people are already calling them (midfielders) inconsistent which sorta baffles me considering every year Max has been here our team has had rough seasonal starts.

Its only 3 games but you can see that our midfield is showing its support going forward, our defense is leaking goals which is the new norm for season starts and just like last year...our attack is taking some time to get airborne. As long as our defense and midfield give the attack that extra bit of runway to get up in the air, we will be fine.

Let Max do Max.

but have you asked yourself...are we seeing enough backheels and 1-2s?

Is it safe to say that attacking teams have better chances of winning the CL?
Yes.

Are we not an attacking team?
Yes, but we aren't very good at it.

Fancy football is not a guarantee of $#@! and vintage Barcelona is not something that you can just create/ emulate.
Nobody is asking us to play like vintage Barcelona, but playing like Lippi's original Juventus or Ferguson's United is not an unreasonable request. We have the players to do it.

Yeah, Max is great and there is no other coach Id rate as highly as him, pragmatic, tactical, his ability to read a game and adapt, subs, etc... but this year I feel is make it or break it in CL. He will most certainly leave if we exit at early stage. There is so much pressure building up atm and its been too long since CL triumph. It became obsession of some sort among fans, which is understandable to extent.
