Good post. Part of the problem with relying on getting the ball to your best attackers in space and relying on them to create from there is that it only works when the midfield and FBs can bring the ball forward to those players in attacking spaces. We had pretty damn poor play from those positions this year, especially with regards to build-up. It caused Dybala to often play to deep and Higuain to get isolated. That's another part of why that 14/15 team was so good, our midfield was amazing at controlling the centre of the pitch and driving the ball forward.

It's also tough when your top players lose form, a little more tactical organization and patterns in attack helps them get through such situations.

The last thing you want is Khedira or Matuidi trying to pick forward passes in the final third of the pitch. Ideally they run into space, and will have a fee easy options to pass the ball without disrupting the game to much.

Lets just hope that Beppe comes through with a couple of quality CMs and a new starting RB, so Max has something to work with next year. Otherwise I think we are in for another ugly season.

I'm pretty sure Cuadrado will be a full-time RB from next season.

If we get Can which I think is a lock and move Cuads to Rb I think we have a really good start to the mercato. RB is taken care of a little bit unless there is a market opportunity. Really all we will need is a quality cm and we could have a great team but also you know we might lose Sandro and replace him with crap there while not getting any more help in the midfield. Im intersted to see what we will do.

When it was announced that he's staying, there were somre rumors about 5 (?) misaligned players leaving. So far we got Buffon, Asa, Licht as well as Benatia and Higuain rumors. Buffon and Asa dont sound misaligned, but the rest would fit the description
