Most goals in club history, but too cautious and needs much work on our poor attacking play. :seven:
I dont understand this kind of comments, when is pretty obvious we need to improve our gameplay.

If anything, the amount of goals we have scored, is proof of that we can be even better if we improved the problems we have in the build up. We would score way way more. Also, as much as you dont like the term "individual brilliance" i think is noticeable that our forwards have been scoring a lot with the amount of chances they get. Kudos to them, but we should support them better.

Lets not try to pretend our midfield is world class.

But it doesnt matter at this point, theres no point in discussing it.
The mercato is coming and most likely there will be an overhaul, so lets wait and see what Allegri builds with marotta.

Individual brilliance.

Yeah. Dybala with 1 goal on 33 shots attempted in CL was much individual brilliance. 3% conversion rate is extraordinary! :hihi:
We are no 19 in the CHL in goals per game, just after Spartak Moscow.

I think someone posted Higuain and Dybala chance conversion ratio in Seria A recently, were they are both in the top 5.

Higuain's been pretty clinical in CL this year, aside from a couple glaring misses.

But a large part of the lack of goals is Dybala's poor finishing, he had numerous good chances throughout the group stage in and around the box. I don't want Dybala sold or anything like that. He's a brilliant player, but needs to improve his first touch (wasted a lot of dangerous possession) and take his chances on the big stage like he did against Barcelona last year and Tottenham this year. Consistency is needed.

My biggest critique of Allegri is pigeonholing Dybala into a position that doesn't suit him. Higgy has done well here, but the Dybala CAM experiment should end and he should play closer to goal. I think it will help his composure also when chances do come to him. Higuain's off-ball movement in and around the box was very poor this year, Dybala's finds the seams and open spaces better.

The 95 pts we won is the all time 3rd best record in serie A.
The 30 wins, or more exactly, winning 79% of matches is the 2nd best record of all time in serie A (the best one is 87%, set by Juve in 2014).

The way we played might not have seemed special, but the numbers at the end of the season are pretty special.

Hopefully next season he allows Matuidi and Khedira to play at Iniesta levels instead of holding them back with his defensive tactics.

For someone with that much technical ability, Dybala has an appalling first touch. And it shows no sign of improving.

Multiple Italian media outlets report that Mister Allegri will meet with the Juventus management tomorrow and may even extend his contract until 2021.

He's requested Juventus CEO, Giuseppe Marotta to sign 5 top players of an international level.

Gotta love these kinda rumours :baus:

I agree on all of it but it was not really the point. The point was that you cherrypick, Dybala’s stats from the CHL, without mentioning his stats in Seria A, in an attempt to make fun of everybody who says that we are to dependend on individual performances. Coincidently we are in the bottom half of teams playing in the CHL in goals per game.

I dont get why you and others get so worked up about the individual brilliance thing. Allegri himself says that he dont believe in to much offensive structure, and that he believes in giving the best offensive players the freedom to create. Allegri’s philosophy has the benefit that we become less predictable and more tacticly flexible. On the down side the team sometimes lacks offensive structur, a clear identity and automatism in our game. There is no right or wrong here, but I prefer a little more structur, and I think that it would help us a lot in games when we are under intense pressure, that we would have some more automatism in our build up game.
I dont think it is a coincidence that our strongest team since the 90ties was in the 2014/2015, were we had a team that still had Conte’s tight structures, but with Allegri abilities to read the game and make small twists, in our tactical setup to make us more unpredictable.

Good post. Part of the problem with relying on getting the ball to your best attackers in space and relying on them to create from there is that it only works when the midfield and FBs can bring the ball forward to those players in attacking spaces. We had pretty damn poor play from those positions this year, especially with regards to build-up. It caused Dybala to often play to deep and Higuain to get isolated. That's another part of why that 14/15 team was so good, our midfield was amazing at controlling the centre of the pitch and driving the ball forward.

It's also tough when your top players lose form, a little more tactical organization and patterns in attack helps them get through such situations.
