If we get that Pereira guy and Fabinho, Sandro will have more joga bonito friends. He will keep form! His slump in form is because he misses Dani.

Guys, I would like to look a the bigger picture and apologize if I talked too much sheet about allegri. I had a discussion with @Alin and this is what I conclude. I paint u a scenario:

Maybe Juve management drew up a 10 years plan for 2010 - 2020 that aims for something like that:
2010-2012 (league top four)
2013-2015 (league winner and champs league 1/4)
2016-2017 (league winner and champs league semi)
2018-2020 (league winner and try to win ECL)

Looking back to 2010, we can only be grateful with our current status as we have surpassed the above plan.

Maybe management and allegri has agreed that it is too early to put resources into winning ECL at this moment, as we are spending money and time to develop the J brand.
That is a much better way to look at it.

Juventus as a brand is growing around the globe and if there's one thing for certain it is the fact the club is planning towards a prosperous future. I do appreciate the fact you not fixed on one particular opinion and that you are open minded enough to see the big picture rather than just blame it all on the coach or one particular player, in the end they all just part of the greater scheme of things.

I hope we will not lose our identity to become more attractive for the plastic fans.

I see Tutenham is on fire, scoring like 5 with ease.

But in CL mister will shut them down so much they will cry like Farca last year and complain they tried to play football and Juve didn't.

We're so going through with a single goal in 180 minutes, lul.

Juve's philosophy is winning as much as possible in any way possible. And we've been successful at that, except CL finals. Notice, not in CL, but in CL finals.

I honestly think it's just bad luck, or curse or whatever.
I agree with your general point but sometimes we were justified in playing this way (like now) and other times not (like the Capello Era). Capello had the squad to take the game to anyone. Madrid is the probably the only squad back then that was better than ours. Our squad was easily on par with Milan's and it was his choice to make us play this boring brand of football even against equal teams the same way he did with Madrid's Galacticos and with England. He didnt have to play a very tactically disciplined game to make up the gap in quality because there was no gap in quality. If anything we had a better team than almost everyone else on paper.

Conte & Allegri kinda had/have their hands tied behind their backs when facing a top team. Conte's Juve took the game to lesser teams (Roma, Napoli etc..) more than Allegri's but cant take the game to Bayern or Real with Vucinic and Matri leading the attack and so naturally you have to play conservatively and hope for the best.

Allegri is even better at this draining strategy than Conte (he even did it with Milan) and I think thats why we were able to lock heads with Barca and Madrid in the past couple of years and beat both. It wont work everytime because we are the worse squad and the game has to be tactically flawless to win. Simeone too bridges the gap using the same strategy against the big teams but sadly for him too it doesnt work every time. One mistake and fucking Ronaldo or Messi or another asshole (Ramos) will punish you and you are then chasing the game and the strategy is out of the window. Thats when the real gap in quality becomes revealed when we (or ATM) are chasing the game and have to be open.

Our strategy has been a reflection of our coaches. With Conte and especially Allegri it allows us to punch above our weights and be a real nuisance to any team who gets us in the draw. When/If we ever get the same caliber of players that our competitors enjoy then and only then would I see Allegri as limiting us the way Capello did to our old squad. Till then we need that style to bridge the gap.

Everyone, just calma.

Allegri has already repeated many times that current selection & tactics are based on current forms of players and requirements. Defense was an issue and we had a tough, important run of games, Dybala & AS were off form. Hence, the extra solid lineup, and AS is more attentive now after riding the bench a few times. Quit selling Dybala already in the mercato thread lol.

Don't know if 433 will remain as the main formation or not, but Benatia, Pjanic, Matuidi, & Mandzukic are our untouchable 4. I hope in the future Matuidi will get used to and play just as well in a 4231.

thats speculative to say the least, you make your own luck they say.

And in the last two finals we lost, we looked so defensive, turtle like and underwhelming offensively, while our opponents attacked us head on. That recipe somehow needs to change if we are to win these types of games.
Not true. We lost to both Barca and Real caught on counter-attacks.

Rakitic goal - they carved through us
Suarez goal - counter attack, they sucker punched us when we had the upper hand
Neymar - counter attack

Ronaldo goal - counterattack
Casemiro goal - we were camping in our own half and couldn’t get out
Ronaldo 2nd goal - same
Asensio goal - same

We struggled with the intensity and speed of Barca and Real in those finals. We couldn’t contain MSN in 2015, and in 2017 Real steamrolled our midfield.

I think that the current squad we have has a better chance of succeeding than either the 2015 or 2017 team had. Our midfield is not as good as 2015, but better than it was last season thanks to Matuidi and Bentancur. We have significantly more depth in attack then we’ve ever had before. We have several players who can come off the bench and make an impact like Costa or Berna.

The only problem is obviously that other teams (specifically PSG and City) have improved too.
