I'm pretty happy with this 4-2-3-1 and the way all our attacking players move in the field. There's a long way to go cuz in both games we scored early and that create more open spare so we really don't know how It works against narrows and close teams.
Max needs to read games better cuz he's failing in the subs
BTW. This 'I knew' Mandzo would be an awesome winger in a 4-2-3-1 is very nonsense

This and this.
I have been saying since a long time that at least in serie A, we need to propose more offensive minded formations. We are just too good for this league when we are on our A game...but playing defensive 352 with poor defensive dms and older bbc is not the way. Vidal and Pogba did way too much work and for that this formation was a success against 80% of the teams, but now is simply not sustainable anymore, It puts way too much pressure on our defenders and strikers since etheres a gap to big to fill in the middle, which used to be the pillar of that formation.
Also, too many peeps here change their arguments on the go to suit their agendas. Its ridiculous and embarrasing.
Still, i dont have any problems with mandzukic playing a defensive winger role as long as he doesnt gets in the way of Higuain. So no problems here.
“It’s not an issue of the system so much as the attitude,” Allegri
Can't help but feel that Allegri has been making these subtle digs at his player's attitude and pushing away blame for wrong tactics choice.
This too. And is indeed not ok.
I mean, some players definitely could be underperforming because of mentality reasons, and in that i can understand allegri. But to say that is "only" the players fault is not fair and not real. Specially when someimes he fucks up the set up of the team or the subs. And this is criticism goes way beyond the tuz, so is not like we are paranoic here.

Don't think he is deflecting, but what's wrong with his player management when he needs to say that weekly? Coaches who are hardline types or motivators rarely need to say that, they just generally keep the players on their toes. Step your game to get the effort you want from them instead of needing press conferences to remind them their attitude is off frequently.

Exactly. Something is wonky.
I dont like coaches exposing players that way. Conte liked to to teh same when cornered because of bad results.
Like you said, clean the dirty laundry at home and if you have some dudes who are not responding to your orders, go to them and say it in their faces..but do not take this issues to the press.
