You know why he did it tho right? Its only because Bonucci is suspended for coppa next weekend. Bonucci is better in middle and Barza is better on the sides (more direct defensive duels). But we need alternative for when Bonucci isnt there so we arent forced to change to 4 man defence every time, and Barza did a decent job in this role for sure.

But its not better then the original set up.
 actually totally forgot about him being suspended, a smart move from Allegri, but there goes my wishful thinking.

I agree that Braza his better in that aspect (duel part)but he will start loosing speed and reaction time very soon imo and playing further back will give him that extra time to react and will be less taxing on his fitness. Bonucci long balls can even be more effective when played from a diagonal angle and further up, not to mention Braza being there to cover the typical ,once a game, Bonucci blunder (who I rate regardless, just for the record)

Just a thought, It's a minor tweak that I suspect can work and even improve us marginally offensive wise even if it might come on expanse of defensive coverage.

I didn't get how Morata was benched the past few games, everytime he came on he was doing something useful and he has been in some very good form. Going even as far back as the Bayern's games. Allegri has a fetish for Mandzu (and other players such as Evra for example), a player I also like, but he needs to take into account form much more in the future.

Anyway, this season's finished, but hopefully he'll change that habit.

Outplayed? They never really came close to score. Allegri purposely let them control possession, sometimes he likes to put a defensive starting line-up on the field, tire the opponent and then put players like Sandro, Cuadrado and Morata on the field, players who can exploit the tiredness of the opponent and who themselves are still full of energy. We did it against Napoli, we did it here and we did it on other occasions. That approach doesn't look pretty or convincing, its not something for the majority of games, but it can be effective. You say Milan has figured him out, but we beat them 3 times this season. I wouldn't consider that "figured out".

been saying this since Morata recovered his form... but everyone is sucking mandzukic´s digg here, not just allegri.

This is false. Neto stopped like 2 or 3 dangerous shots. and had to intervene in a lot of plays.

we were missing 3 starters from the middle of the field, with no impact subs to change the game in that area. no wonder allegri made his substitutions on the flanks.

it seems we just can't play effectively without both marchisio and khedira.

Got saved by morata, we have been outplayed by milan every game this season, they have him figured out
And yet they are what, 0 for 5 against him the last two seasons?

Which makes that record even more embarrassing for Milan considering he was their coach for three seasons prior :howler:
