Interesting how some Italian coaches are 'learning English' nowadays. Conte, Allegri, Mazzari and Spalletti all mentioned it in previous interviews. With Guardiola reportedly earning 18m a year with Manchester City starting next season, all coaches will prioritize the EPL.

I would not blame them.

Its like in the golden years of serie A. Everyone wanted a piece of the cake, it doesnt mattered which team it was. You would see top players around the world who would play for madrid or barca nowadays..... playing for the likes of Parma an Chievo just to be in the party of serie A.

The difference is that in its golden age Serie A was dominating both C. League and Coppa UEFA, while actually PL clubs despite of the endless money are constantly a laughing stock in both european competitions.

yeah they suck, but since all that is left for players nowadays is money, they go where the money is. In those serie A days, it was not only money like you said, but also top performances from the teams in the league.

Lets say, when serie A was at its prime.. it was a good combination of economic power and sporting excellency.

Apart from quality teams like ManU, which performed consistently in europe even with the league being third tier or 4th tier, this current manifestation of the premier league is being purely economical and not sportwise. It was made with money alone, unlike the serie A of old which was money and sporting excellency.

But well, they did their homework and apart from oil and sheik money, they improved a lot of aspects of their system and it is giving dividends now,

Yeah, not denying that

But money is important when is the deciding factor. Young champions like Sandro, for example, could have gone to City this summer if he really wanted. For sure he might have had a better salary, but instead he's here, and I bet one of the reasons is that we were CL finalists last year and have showed to have an ambitious project. That is also true. So, in the long run, not having good results can become a big malus.

yeah, not having results on top of not having money is the end. as simple as that. it is becoming a milan.. a team forgotten in history right now. a fallen giant
