It's the same deal with Madrid. Except in Morata's case we let Madrid impose all the options. 20 mil purchase for what was basically a 2 year loan, and if Morata succeeds they get to buy him back for just 30-35 mil.

Conversely, in Coman's case, we go for loaning the player for two years, and if he succeeds Bayern get to buy him for just 28 mil. If he flops and Bayern don't play him, we're stuck with him. Yeah. Great deal for us.

And stop saying the kid isn't talented. Please show me all the 18 year olds that managed to play 600+ minutes for a CL finalist. He also scored a goal and provided 2 assists in those 600 minutes.

And I'm not saying this deal is the end of the world, of course some hyperbole is engaged in when arguing with people trying to make this deal out to be some masterstroke. None of us know how this deal will look in the end. The best hope would be that he turns into a decent forward that Bayern doesn't think is quite good enough, so they send back here and we either help him develop even further and become a star for us, or we can sell him for 15-20 mil and end up with a tidy profit at the end of it.

However. A top club doesn't sell a very high level 19 year old attacking prospect, especially on a two year loan so the team purchasing has absolutely no risk if he flops. You keep him, allow him to continue developing (he was clearly going to get a decent amount of playing time this year and Allegri certainly thought highly of him), or loan him either with no option to buy/with a buyback. You don't sell your best young prospects in this fashion. It's just very poor.

Coman didn't prove anything so far that he is worth of that price tag. Currently his price is nowhere near 28m. He could become good player in the future, maybe WC one, or he could miserably flop. We made a decision assuming the latter. People should deal with it for the time being.

Mercato wasn't pathetic due to faling to sign AM, we made important acquistion in other areas. Still baffled that we didn't get any central midfielder, but I hope that will change soon. Bar Khedira ofc.

I agree, although as I discussed with CK, his request to leave and the potential fee makes the move more understandable from the club's POV. We seem to be really cut throat with players who don't seem 100% certain that they want to be here, that they have a future key role here, or that they can get better elsewhere. Twice now we have passed players on like a hot potato.

There is massive potential to lose out in this deal, but again, the club has to weigh it up, and ultimately if he goes we get €28m for a player who is talented but may or may not have become a success at Juventus. Bayern in recent years have played a more suitable formation/style for his attributes than we have.

What? I didn't say anything about the CL final. I said he managed to get 600 minutes of playing time as an 18 year old, for a team good enough to do a domestic double and reach a CL final. He managed to score 1 and assist 2 in those 600 minutes.

That is showing quite a bit for an 18 year old. As I said name all the 18 year olds that managed to feature that much for a CL finalist. The list is pretty damn slim. Hence why we wanted him so badly last year, and hence the reason Bayern wants him so badly this year.

People wouldn't be losing their minds if we managed to pull one of Real or Barca's top 18/19 year old prospects here who had actually featured 600 minutes for the first team, not on a two year loan for only 7 mil with an option not obligation to buy at the end for only 21 mil. That's a scream of a deal for Bayern. They take 7 mil of risk. That's peanuts when it comes to young players with massive potential.
