Oh, I don't agree with any of the stories about players being sold being the reason he was leaving, and I do think it was very likely a lack of motivation to continue with the Juventus project as he consistently underrated this team and the possibility for it to do even better in the future.

However, if he was so certain he wanted to leave and lacked all that motivation, he should have just insisted on leaving, rather than waiting until 2 days into training camp. And I'm pretty certain from actual Juventus releases about him agreeing to stay 1 more year, that it wasn't just a case of management saying he could have the summer vacation and then decide. I'd imagine they decided on that, he took his vacation, came back and decided he just couldn't stay the one more year. It was selfish on his part to do so. He should have left after the season. Stuck with his decision if he was so certain of it, and so in need of it, that he would leave after training camp had already started. The players all said they were shocked by it.

He could have achieved more. He could have tried tactical flexibility and attempted a 4-3-1-2. Or a 4-4-2. Many things could have been done to achieve more. Allegri has us in CL semis, Coppa Final, and 15 points up for the scudetto.
From what Nedved has said Conte told them he was finished and they told him to think about it over the holiday and to leave if he feels the same way. He gave it a shot and quit right after he came back. If he wasn't certain before he became certain after the holiday and I think it was a good move by management to give him time to think it through without them panicking.

Again you are a star at your company and reached fantastic achievements with it but then you felt this is the most you can take this company forward and that you'd like to move on for your sake and for the company's sake. Your boss tells you that he values you very much and gives you time to reconsider.. you took your time and then told him that you dont think you can do more for the company. This is very normal.

The one year extension is a formality. If he had not renewed then he'd have been out of contract and the whole reconsideration period would have been meaningless. Its not like he took any compensation for it or pulled an Amauri.

I think the anger in light of the total information we have now is not justified but in light of the little info we had before it was justified.
No one saw this coming. All the talks were between management and Conte. As far as the fans are concerned, everything was fine and Conte was at most pushing for more expensive transfers. To us, the whole thing was very sudden and for no reason. We all panicked and we hated him for leaving us mid-preseason. We also saw the club signing Allegri which everyone hated and thought would flop which also contributed to the melt-down and the rage.

The details emerged later on long after the sour feelings sank in and I think large portions of the fans still dont know what the details said by the club are. Everyone knows Conte left. Very few know why. He then took the Azzuri job and feelings became more sour and then with his complaining about not training the players enough it became terrible.

I read that. I doubt that's exactly what happened, considering they'd announced previously a 1 year extension. That sounds more like Nedved trying to placate and mediate, and calm the situation.

Aside from this, he took over as National team coach. He clearly wasn't too fatigued and lacking energy to carry on. Bullshit excuse. Maybe motivation was a part of it, but as soon as the NT coaching job came back, wow, that motivation and energy magically reappear, and the fatigue is washed away. He even complains that he doesn't get enough time with the players.
Exactly. And he was a failure in Europe anyway. Can't see why he should feel "unmotivated".

The fact is he agreed to sign on for one more year...no-one put a gun to his head. Of course our management wanted him to stay on, he was a club legend who just led the club to their third straight title, its only right they'd want him to stay...but if he felt that strongly about quitting, it would have been much more beneficial for Juventus (and him) to say "thanks but no thanks" and just call it quits officially after the 13/14 season ended.

And if it's true that he wasn't happy with the clubs lack of "ambition" and the perceived "poor mercato" (lmao), then his decision looks worse. I seriously think he thought some EPL clubs or PSG would come running to him once he announced his intention to quit. That didn't eventuate, so the Italian NT job was there (with a huge pay rise) and now he is stuck coaching one of the worst Italian teams in the last 30 years. It must burn Conte big time to see how we've progressed this season. Juventus hasn't missed a beat without him.

Conte is a great manager, one of the best around, but his biggest problem is his horrible ego and his stubbornness. It was his way or the highway all the time, and he also liked making excuses for his failures. In a way it is a blessing in disguise that he left, and we got the superior tactician in EuroMaxxx, but I still feel the way he left was extremely disrespectful.
So if Watzke talks Klopp into giving himself the holidays to rethink his decision to leave and Klopp agreed, would Klopp be a traitor or does that make his exit a disgrace? Certainly not. The onus is on Watzke to have a plan B if he gave Klopp such a grace period to rethink. It was management's offer and it was their risk. Conte can't be faulted for accepting that "harmful" offer.

Your earlier rhetoric was that the way he left is a disgraceful and extremely disrespectful. It was based on Conte dumping the team all of a sudden shocking everyone in the process. You know that this is false and management knew all along and agreed with him on the plan.

Now your basis is that its a disgrace because he took management's offer to reconsider and then arrived to the same conclusion? If anything you should be mad at management for making this offer not at Conte for accepting it.

The same can be said for the 1 year extension. Management knew and still extended his contract probably to keep off rumors of instability especially with the rumors surrounding Vidal and Pogba wanting to leave. And either way there was no financial compensation involved and both so what are you complaining about? the loss of paper and ink?

Pavel Nedved reveals Antonio Conte quit Juventus because “he no longer had the energy to continue and had wanted to resign in May.”

Nedved is a member of the Bianconeri backroom staff and told a Czech newspaper the reason Conte abruptly terminated his contract two days into pre-season training.

“Antonio resigned because he no longer had the energy to continue, not because of any disagreements with the directors,” assured Nedved.

“He already wanted to resign in May, but we talked it over and convinced him to think about it over the holidays.

“When he came back, he decided that he didn’t want to carry on. None of what the media have said about Conte’s resignation has been correct. He was simply tired.

“It’s true his decision surprised us, even if I’d already seen his fatigue towards the end of last season.”

I am surprised you didn't know that
The incredibly fast signing of Allegri basically confirms this story as well, they already had him lined up before the resignation.

See I don't get this theory...who else would they have gone for? I'm pretty sure it was either Allegri or Mancini. Juventus almost always goes for Italian coaches, and he was one of the best available.
