I hate Conte for what he did and how he left. But we still can't say Allegri is better. He has been doing good, but he still hasn't won anything. The minimum requerment for him would be the leauge title, now if we win that and qualify to the next round in the CL and/or win the Coppa, that is definetly an improvment over Conte.
Viola rats will beat us in Coppa.

You're not fair though. He lost the supercup. We should have been +9pts ahead of Roma AT LEAST. I can live with a bore draw to Udinese (possible +11pts) in an away game, you can't win every match but not winning against this shitty Cesena is very embarrassing. Most of our players looked like amateurs or casual oldies with no will and ability to fight. You expect a much different approach the moment Roma slips. They're in horrible form right now and we're unable to benefit from it over and over again which could backfire easily. We can't keep letting Roma getting back to the title race through back door, especially with our game in Rome yet to be played.
+7 can be turned into +12 or +3 in a matter of weeks so the fact that so far with as many games as we have played we still remain in 1st says a lot. I think we have been in first place, alone, since maybe October? Maybe even September? I mean, it's Italy chasing us and not the other way around. Not only are we doing well in Coppa but also progressing (further than last year) in the CL. Even if we get eliminated by Dortmund we still made it further than last year which technically is making progress, even if we are all disappointed. Supercup is another trophy sure, but Napoli don't win ship except these random trophies and to them its like do or die. We can't be expected to win a tremble every year. We have our objectives: CL and doing better than last year (CHECK) and leading the league en route to a 4th title (CHECK). Coppa is an opportunity to win another trophy but also play a B team (CHECK).
Overall I don't like Allegri but I'm surprised he's doing so well (thus far), I expected much worse tbh. It doesn't change the fact he makes retarded decisions and doesn't seem to learn from them. Why Llorente lasted so long on the pitch is beyond me. Same goes for Pirlo who was simply horrible. Seeing it all he takes off Pogba for Pereyra which is laughable. Pogba and Morata were our only creative sources last night and he (Allegri) shoots himself in the leg. You never take off a player like Pogba when you need a goal. He tends to play average but one pass, one dribble or one shot of his can change everything. Licht also deserved to be taken off I doubt Padoin would get skinned so often and he'd surely put better crosses into the box.
No on hates playing Llorente more than myself or @Lion but Morata is getting more and more time on the pitch and Allegri (unlike Conte) learns form his mistakes. Face it, Conte for 3 seasons refused to change pretty much anything. Allegri is MUCH more willing to tinker with things than Conte and it's refreshing. We saw that with the formation change, with the youngers (morata/coman) and letting Tevez/Vidal be more involved in the pitch. We are scoring more goals it seems as well. 49 goals so far that THAT'S WITHOUT A PURE AM SUPPORTING THE STRIKERS. Last season we had 80 goals and 24 against. We are more than on track of improving that ratio. We still have 15 rounds left in the season.

To sum it up I'm quite satisfied with Allegri's job so far but he has to grow a pair and bench both Pirlo and Llorente for life. He doesn't have an easy task this season as we have quite many injuries and very thin attack. I'm thankful to him for dropping the ancient 352 and making our boys play some nice football which is more watchable than Conte's Juve but when it's needed he has to ruthless. It'd be a disaster to lose the scudetto to this shitty Roma who don't deserve it this season at all.
Llorente played yesterday because Tevez was suspended on yellows. We can't avoid that. Which is a reason why bringing back Zaza seems like such a good idea at this point despite his naysayers.

If he wins scudetto and gets past Dortmund I'll call him a success with clear mind though.[/QUOTE]I agree with the Pirlo/Llorente criticism

We were the underdogs in Europe playing with a new formation. Once teams figured out how to play against the 352 we were completely useless. First season in CL was a success but my money is because no one outside of Italy knew how to play us. But as all know how that turned out the following two season in the CL under Conte...our limitations were exploited and we were eliminated.

The fact we had 102 pt season shows how bad the league was in.

- - - Updated - - -

No but if we played a better team than Celtic it would have been a different story and you know it.

Actually maybe you don't know it.
I've argued this 3-5-2 thing for a while, I honestly don't think Conte had any intention of sticking with it this season which is why he has been after able wingers for the last 2 summer windows yet we go spend 15 mill on a back up defender who is utterly useless for the most parts and 15 mill on a versatile player without adding any real quality or dimension

102 points showed how strong we were, we capitalised on the mistakes of our opponents, recently we can't even do that with roma slipping up is the league stronger now than it was last season? of course not

Hogwash. Conte had a perfect team for the 433 and everytime he "actually" played it we could see improvements.

I don't but the nonsense. He had a team built for a 433 since his first season here...wingers or not we had Gio/Vucinic ready to run ramped on the wings.

common man vucinic as a winger really and run in the same sentence? :D

Any how if he had a team built for 4-3-3 why did it look so unorthodox when we played that system against real madrid? I mean we had ogbonna at left back for christ sake

Well Conte beat Chelsea and Shakhtar. Both were very good teams back then (Chelsea got better, Shakhtar worse but that's not the case).

To me if Allegri advances against this weak Dortmund, only then I'll consider placing him near Conte when it comes to CL (only).

He can't be ruthless being Galliani's puppy so long. And we can't forget that, our first scudetto under Conte was solely given by Allegri.I just don't want that to happen again on Roma's benefit although I think that we are much better than them.

We all know Mirko & Gio were more effective out on the left and cutting in. They were both much better than playing as a striker in the 352.

the 2 combined would have left a huge gap between the midfield and attack, they weren't exactly known for their work rate or ability to track back defensively. Probably why Conte was insistent that he needed Pepe if we stood any chance of playing 4-3-3 on a more regular basis and to some extent I think Marotta too had his hopes on Pepe regaining fitness in order to spend money elsewhere which he did before Pepe having his relapse in injury

You telling me that Pogba-Marchisio-Vidal couldn't handle it?

You really believe that Pepe stuff? The dude was horrible, painful to watch even healthy.
I laugh every time I hear the argument that the only way to have the 433 work back then was having Pepe back to help "defensively". :howler:

Why do you think Marchisio played out of position in a 4-3-3 against real madrid? imagine if we played vucinic and giovinco instead, tactical suicide
