You're not fair though. He lost the supercup. We should have been +9pts ahead of Roma AT LEAST. I can live with a bore draw to Udinese (possible +11pts) in an away game, you can't win every match but not winning against this shitty Cesena is very embarrassing. Most of our players looked like amateurs or casual oldies with no will and ability to fight. You expect a much different approach the moment Roma slips. They're in horrible form right now and we're unable to benefit from it over and over again which could backfire easily. We can't keep letting Roma getting back to the title race through back door, especially with our game in Rome yet to be played.
+7 can be turned into +12 or +3 in a matter of weeks so the fact that so far with as many games as we have played we still remain in 1st says a lot. I think we have been in first place, alone, since maybe October? Maybe even September? I mean, it's Italy chasing us and not the other way around. Not only are we doing well in Coppa but also progressing (further than last year) in the CL. Even if we get eliminated by Dortmund we still made it further than last year which technically is making progress, even if we are all disappointed. Supercup is another trophy sure, but Napoli don't win ship except these random trophies and to them its like do or die. We can't be expected to win a tremble every year. We have our objectives: CL and doing better than last year (CHECK) and leading the league en route to a 4th title (CHECK). Coppa is an opportunity to win another trophy but also play a B team (CHECK).
Overall I don't like Allegri but I'm surprised he's doing so well (thus far), I expected much worse tbh. It doesn't change the fact he makes retarded decisions and doesn't seem to learn from them. Why Llorente lasted so long on the pitch is beyond me. Same goes for Pirlo who was simply horrible. Seeing it all he takes off Pogba for Pereyra which is laughable. Pogba and Morata were our only creative sources last night and he (Allegri) shoots himself in the leg. You never take off a player like Pogba when you need a goal. He tends to play average but one pass, one dribble or one shot of his can change everything. Licht also deserved to be taken off I doubt Padoin would get skinned so often and he'd surely put better crosses into the box.
No on hates playing Llorente more than myself or @Lion but Morata is getting more and more time on the pitch and Allegri (unlike Conte) learns form his mistakes. Face it, Conte for 3 seasons refused to change pretty much anything. Allegri is MUCH more willing to tinker with things than Conte and it's refreshing. We saw that with the formation change, with the youngers (morata/coman) and letting Tevez/Vidal be more involved in the pitch. We are scoring more goals it seems as well. 49 goals so far that THAT'S WITHOUT A PURE AM SUPPORTING THE STRIKERS. Last season we had 80 goals and 24 against. We are more than on track of improving that ratio. We still have 15 rounds left in the season.
To sum it up I'm quite satisfied with Allegri's job so far but he has to grow a pair and bench both Pirlo and Llorente for life. He doesn't have an easy task this season as we have quite many injuries and very thin attack. I'm thankful to him for dropping the ancient 352 and making our boys play some nice football which is more watchable than Conte's Juve but when it's needed he has to ruthless. It'd be a disaster to lose the scudetto to this shitty Roma who don't deserve it this season at all.
Llorente played yesterday because Tevez was suspended on yellows. We can't avoid that. Which is a reason why bringing back Zaza seems like such a good idea at this point despite his naysayers.
If he wins scudetto and gets past Dortmund I'll call him a success with clear mind though.[/QUOTE]I agree with the Pirlo/Llorente criticism
