This so called "elite coach" (y'know, Pep/Klopp level apparently) is paid 9m/y and can't even teach these players how to put a through ball for Vlahovic. There were 3 or 4 really good opportunities where he made a run and someone like Cuadrado would just turn around, pass back or horizontally. You could see him get visibly frustrated with this.
I mean, what the heck do they do in training?
Do you expect Cuadrado to make through balls? Hes a "ball hog", a "play stopper". He almost always gets the ball and tries to beat his man and cross/shoot/pass back. Hes been like that always. When it works, its great. When it doesnt work its annoying, but you live with it

Exactly.

Every time we played “high pressing” yolo football we came out on the losing end.

This team is atrocious and Allegri has been right most of the season playing defensive and on the counter. It simply isn’t capable of more.

Allegri has been a disappointment so far this season, but this is a shit squad of unmotivated and overrated players. We need a HUGE mercato this summer to even try to begin to fix the mess that the predecessors have left.
Overall applied pressure in
all losses:
0-1 vs. Empoli 144 (31 or 21.5% attacking 3rd)
0-1 vs. Inter 120 (56 or 46,6% attacking 3rd)
1-2 vs. Napoli 203 (26 or 12.8% attacking 3rd)
0-1 vs. Atalanta 152 (23 or 15.3% attacking 3rd)
1-2 vs. Verona 152 (33 or 21.7% attacking 3rd)
1-2 vs. Sassuolo 131 (30 or 22.9% attacking 3rd)
0-4 vs. Chelsea 160 (44 or 27.5% attacking 3rd)
0-3 vs. Villarreal 129 (51 or 39% attacking 3rd)
Draws in big matches:
1-1 vs. Villarreal 130 (21 or 16.1% attacking 3rd)
1-1 vs. Atalanta 142 (32 or 22.5% attacking 3rd)
1-1 vs. Milan 158 (34 or 21.5% attacking 3rd)
1-1 vs. Napoli 153 (59 or 38.5% attacking 3rd)
1-1 vs. Inter 156 (42 or 26.9% attacking 3rd)
1-1 vs. Milan 148 (32 or 21.6% attacking 3rd)
Wins:
2-0 vs. Lazio 115 (15 or 13% attacking 3rd)
4-3 vs. Roma 107 (25 or 23.3% attacking 3rd)
1-0 vs. Torino 115 (23 or 20% attacking 3rd)
1-0 vs. Chelsea 232 (22 or 9.48% attacking 3rd)
2-0 vs. Genoa 162 (72 or 44.4% attacking 3rd)
3-2 vs. Sampdoria 107 (18 or 16.8% attacking 3rd)
3-2 vs. Spezia 105 (27 or 25.7% attacking 3rd)
So no, we don't lose games because of the high pressure. If anything, we've played one of the best matches of the season with it. Also for me that match against Inter was the best display of juventus in the whole year and its not acoincidence that that match was played with a highest % of applied pressure in the attacking 3rd and the numbers are showing it. We were able to close inter inside of their defensive third and were unlucky with couple of good chances that were missed and with the VAR decisions.
Also by applied pressure in the attacking 3rd Juventus is 11th team in the league and it's a fucking disaster.

It's not a disaster because it's a completely useless stat.

The team Allegri inherited from Conte was excellent and the transfers in those seasons were excellent. Conte is a great manager but he could never lead any sort of tactical masterclass and he was found out in Europe. We hired Allegri and he got the best out of his teams with his outstanding tactical knowledge but he had some amazing players who were able to execute his plans. He was sacked at the right time as our squad declined and we went for a different approach.

We hired Sarri and he took charge of a decaying team, the holes were there and we started to slide towards mediocrity. Sarri did a decent job with a decent team but you could clearly see that both the squad and manager were limited. Pirlo took that same squad but his inexperience showed and again, the squad had decayed further.

Allegri came back to a very mediocre squad. His players are unable to play the type of football that he wants. He in return, cannot figure out how to get them to function. We've hired Allegri at the wrong time just like when we got Ronaldo, the teams are not built to utilise either of the two. Had we gone for a lower-level manager but someone who plays youngsters and is perhaps more bold and risky, we could've at least developed our Fagiolis and sent some of the shitty players like Sandro, away. Both Sarri and Pirlo should've got second seasons because they had mediocre squads but here we are, 3 years with no progress on the field whatsoever because the other teams strengthened while we weakened ourselves.

Allegri may challenge domestic success next year but I can see us exiting CL at the maximum QF stage, with a miracle. Unless we give him a new team from keeper through to striker/wingers next to Vlahovic, I can see us having another 4th place finish. I love Allegri's work but this was a wasted season because he's not a rebuilder, this isn't the right squad and environment for him. We should've hired him after we become Serie A champions again but this appointment was too early for this squad that isn't even close to what Allegri was managing before. For that reason, I think Allegri walks away when he sees that we can't give him the squad he needs for him to do his best work. The reality is that while the players are massively to blame, we can't spend mad amounts of cash in one go for this rebuild so maybe we're better off with a manager who will develop our youngsters and maybe give us a new attacking identity that we try and develop because this year is a washout.

Sure that's why Milan is first team in Serie A with the most applied pressure in the attacking third, that's why Man City and Liverpool are leaders with it in the EPL. When they lose ball they run into the opposite players trying to get it back, it's gegenpressing, while Juventus is turning around and running back because Allegri is a dinosaur coach with outdated tactics.

but real madrid wanted Allegri :baus:
Yes, Vlad or someone who told me he was an elite coach. Makes sense therefore that Real Madrid would go for the best of the very best in Allegri. Why go for a loser like Ancelotti when you have Allegri and his 3-0 barca result from 5 years ago behind him. It is a privilege to have the best manager in the world with us, getting us that incredible 4th place.

Examples aren't rules. We're 11th in the stats and still 4th in the actual standings... Jep, still useless.

Sure, that's why Pep and Klopp are using it and winning it all again and again, because it's absolutely useless.
Still waiting for Gegenpress master Pep's CL victory after spending billions. You're blinded by hatred. No problem in admitting.

Luckily Villareal's press is insane in the CL. Again; examples aren't very useful to support any point.

UCL is a strange tournament, you need to be a very lucky to win it, Juventus has choked 7 finals in the row, before 1998 Real was unable to win it for 30 years and at the same time Chelsea has won it twice in 10 years, especially with a bang average squad in 2012 and with Di Matteo as head coach.

Who told you that you can't win a trophy with a defensive tactics? You can't be this retarded. Do you think that I would be against it if Juventus defended compactly, carried out lightning-fast counter attacks and destroyed everyone? How dumb do you have to be to think like that?:sergio: The thing is that Allegri can't do anything - no ptb + counters, no tiki-taka + gegen-pressing, no nothing.

Few of them are too stubborn. You cant coppy the approach of other teams and expect it work as well, especially as stacked like City. When you have Danilo and Rabiot in the middle, when you have Dybala who is on his way out, Pellegrini and MDS at FB, you cant expect to play like Man City. However, we should absolutely beat the teams like Bologna and I hope for more pragmatic approach in the following games.

Luck for sure has a massive part to play in any knock out competition. We've seen so many upsets in the CL, World Cup, Euros and FA cup over the years.
Yep, Ramos' goal, not given penalty to Juve vs. barcelona, 45 shots by Bayern against Chelsea, early penalty to Liverpool vs. Spurs etc. etc.

Morata, De Ligt, Locatelli and Rabiot are one of the best pressers in the league, and if anything WE DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO PLAY LIKE THIS, WE'VE NEVER TRIED TO PLAY LIKE THIS FOR 5-10 MATCHES WITH ALLEGRI , how can you be so dumb? just how? We've played almost perfect match against inter, juventus' pressing was on point, that's how we should have played against everyone. But after that match against Inter your GOAT coach says "SEE, I'D RATHER SIT AT THE BACK AND WIN THAN TO TRY TO PLAY BEAUTIFUL AND TO LOSE" Fucking shame
