Yes but Deschamps always has his little preferences. You saw 3 years of Rabiot here, you should know his level. And you saw a lot of Brozovic I presume, he's obviously the better footballer
I do watch mostly Serie A and I'm not a big fan of Brozo. He's important for Inter due to his profile, Conte basically played him as their Pirlo, which of course is a massively important position in Contes 352 setup so I agree that he was one of their most important players, but I dont think that neccessarily means hes one of their best players. I dont think top teams are salivating at the thought of having either Rabiot or Brozo plahing for them.

If the choice is between Rabiot at 7m or Brozo at 3.5m Im definitely picking Brozo. If theyre both on 3.5m Id look at the profile of the other mids first and then decide.

Brozovic is better technically and definitely puts in more effort. Rabiot has the size advantage but he's not so fast and lethargic, only has one good foot, and has personality issues. I'd pick Broz any day, under any coach or in any position over Rabiot, especially for us right now where he would fit like a glove next to Locatelli for a 4231

I know we're in a transitional phase, but this clip kinda highlights how the team should operate. Obviously we had better players, but the main thing is not one of them cheated their role. You get caught out if one guy doesn't do his job, today we have multiple not doing it simultaneously. That's how you go 18-19 in a row without a clean sheet.

But they do, especially their midfield :)
Only their midfield is better. Our attack and defense are better on paper. Depth even.

That was a big win, a draw would have been a disaster. Need to get some momentum going to bring confidence to the whole team.
Huge win. Still in it. Otherwise, would be pretty much out of title contention already.

Grazie Chiesa for the solo golaso and sparking the team. Change to a formation with natural wingers instead of shoehorning a CM, a subpar one at that, in a flank position and asking MDS to do a Roberto Carlos also helped. The simplicity and common sense wonders of life.

Isn’t De Vrij preferred to De Ligt in Dutch NT?

Yeah Allegri needs to get his head a bit out of his ass and stop the nonsense with stupid midfielders as wingers, especially with De Sciglio behind, what was he thinking there? I saw some people even mentioning what stroke of brilliance it then was to replace them both at halftime :fap:

Just keep it simple and consistent with this team. Everything has been madness for 3 seasons, with players playing all over the place, no wonder there is no system or patterns.

And the fetish with mediocre midfielders out of position is a bit alarming too. As of now, all our mids sucks (until proven otherwise), and the goal is to use as few of them as possible. Not plaster them all over the field in weird positions.

I supported Max as I thought he was the man for getting back to some basics. I hope he can get it together now after first win in the league.

Yes. Skriniar and Bastoni have also been brilliant for the past 12 months or so. Their defence does not pale in comparison to ours at all, not even on "paper". The on the field defensive performance of Inter is obviously far better than what Juve has showed for the past 24 months.
And their goalie is better too. Not great but certainly better than Woj.
Speaking of Inter goalies:
Beppe strikes again

In modern football midfield is everything. In fact not just in modern football, midfield is always everything it’s essential in defense and offense, it’s the connecting wire for the attack and for the defense, it’s the soul, legs and lungs of a team.

After two seasons in which we allowed 81 goals and they allowed 71 goals, it’s very odd for anyone to consider our defense much stronger, even on paper. And that depth of Rugani, de Sciglio, and Pellegrini. So strong! :lol3:

If our defence is really that much better I guess it just highlights the stunning incompetence of “best Italian league coach” Sarri even further. We allowed 43 goals in the league under him, by far our worst since Del Neri.
