It’s funny, he’s 100% right in what he says (that in Italy they are too obsessed with tactics instead of skills and individual brilliance) but he hasn’t really practiced what he preached this season. Max has over-thought situations and worried too much about defending leads instead of taking the front foot in too many games next season.

It’s clear he is staying next season and onwards, fine. But I hope we give him the midfield we desperately need, a centre-back or two, and we see a more proactive attitude especially in CL games. Fortune generally favours the brave.
I think at this point, it's not clear anymore but beyond clear that Allegri approach is immensely suffering when not having at least 1 great b2b midfielder or marauder.

Sounds like a man under pressure even if he said the same things last year

I think this is a fundamental issue with how our play has developed
Pass it to a player and hope he does something
It was one of my main criticisms of him when he used to coach Milan. They’re play seemed to be “pass it to Ibra and hope for the best”. Now this season it seems like he’s coaching that same Milan but just swap Ives with Ronaldo.

That’s not good enough for a club with our ambitions and with all of the attacking talent in our squad.

A lot of managers have certain philosophy and they require specific players to fit into their system. Guardiola, Klopp, Mourinho, their teams have identity and you always can recognize what their work consists of. But their systems arent nearly as flexible as Allegri's. Take away few players from their teams and replace them with players with different characteristics and they will be in trouble. Take away few key players from Allegri and he will find a way to win, adapting to players and finding a way to outsmart his opposition, most of the time. Allegri is looking to exploit opponent's weakness, not only because he isnt proactive enough to impose his play, but because he is aware of limitations this team has. For the umpteenth time, current Juve side is way to overrated by everyone, from pundits to fans. There are too many players who are inconsistent, from Dybala, Costa to Bernadeschi, from AS to Cancelo, etc... Lets not forget that our best CB is 35 yo Chiellini and when he is out, which is becoming more and more frequent, we have no one to adequately replace him. So pass the ball to Ronaldo seems like the best solutions. But there is also an issue bc we dont pass the ball to Ronaldo as much as we should, bc of our glaring weaknesses in the middle. In general getting the ball to your best players isnt a bad idea at all. If people are expecting some well drilled actions, automated moves from players, Allegri isnt your guy bc his system isnt rigid and relies heavily on players creativity, giving them a lot of freedom to express themselves.imo

Allegri “Alex Sandro has a fracture in his toe and has been dealing with it for over a month,”

"He was struggling a little on a muscular level, because he’s been running in a ‘wrong’ way for so long to take the weight off it.”

The way Sandro has been playing in the last 2 years I think he's been playing with a couple of fractured legs!

Allegri: "Football is simple. As the season progresses, you can't implement what you had planned for, in June. You (media/fans) don't know anything about the practicality of football. I have won 6 Scudetti."
His team treated the games vs Ajax like a pre season friendly againt Pro Vercetti with no will to move, pass, fight, play

This is unforgivable

If I was Max I would be ashamed even to show myself after these games, let alone give cocky interviews.

Only reason why I want to keep him is because the market doesn't offer anything

IMO he got super defensive because he knew he fucked up and now he is embarrassed so he lashes out.

He isn't the kind of guy that's gonna come out and say "yeah, I fucked up". He is too proud to say it. I remember his comment some time ago where he said he only needs to watch 15-20 mins of an opponent before he knows what he is going to do. Maybe he doesn't prep enough, who knows.

A little bit off topic. But what in the hell is the deal with comments like this? Everybody here supports the same team but people disagree about how the season went and why, which is fine. But it so freaking common in these forums that simple disagreements about chicken shit issues are made personal for no god damn reason.

I have some unfinished business with him, check the next coach thread, you will understand.

I am just giving this guy a taste of his own medicine.

The dude was right about him not getting the best out of the players he has though. I’ll insist under a different coach and instructions our midfield, while not the greatest thing on earth, would function properly as it should.

He’s right about Italians only caring about tactics and etc but he’s always gonna get blamed for poor performances, and that’s the way it should be. It is your fault when your team can’t connect a few passes together.
