Isnt it also very weird that we invest heavily in wingers (Costa, Cuadrado, Pjaca, Bernardeschi, Cancelo, Sandro), then after the first game where we played fluid and very promising football, Allegri decides to switch to 3 men in midfield, and leave our wingers out. Not that it stopped us from playing wide and perform millions of unprecise crosses, but now from our fullbacks instead. Its just a waste of ressources to invest in one strategy, then opt for another.

Emre Can cost us 16m (for his agent). Add another 9mil and we could’ve activated Torreira’s release clause.

Why didn’t we take Lo Celso on loan, when we desperately need a midfielder who can dribble the ball forward and pick a pass? I’m sure we could have outmuscled Betis.

Allan only cost Napoli 10m.

The issue isn’t money. There are a lot of talented cheap midfielders out there. We just suck ass at midfield recruitment.

Or maybe is not about our policy but about what the coach feels comfortable using?

Think about it. We just use workhorses in midfield....

Food for thought.

Max's repeated many times he want tall physical midfielders.
Allegri obviously likes players like Khedira and Can which is not helping our cause at all.

It’s rather worrying that we aren’t even linked to creative midfielders like Aouar or Lo Celso. This means Allegri probably feels that we don’t need such players.

We're linked to Isco, Pogba and Ndombele.

Allegri also likes CAMs and asked for one for years, before finally trying to turn Dybala into one.

He played Vidal, and later Pogba as CAMs here.

I'm pretty certain Allegri uses whatever the management gives him. He's not perfect, but he's done a damn good job.

I doubt we'd see Khedira starting, and Can ever playing if we had top class mids here.
