We barely press the opponent in their half anymore unlike previous seasons. Even when Higuain is pressing the opponents backline you can see that it takes quite some time untill the other players join (and often look confused doing so)

I just don't like this negative approach this season and grinding out 1-0 wins that much anymore. Counter attacking, absorbing pressure, 10 players behind the ball (4-5-1).. it's working but I doubt this is the way we can be playing in the CL.
I count only three 1-0 wins...Napoli Dec 1st and fiorentina back in September.

We are back to steam rolling the league we should be very happy these last 8 games

The decisions Max is making right now will be detrimental long term, that is why I’m annoyed.
What decisions? The decisions that brought 8 clean sheets in a row now? Lol isn’t that a good thing?

What Bianconero_Aus said. People here just want chaos. We're in for the treble and are 1 point away from topping the league along with hitting good form and keeping clean sheets like you just mentioned. And our strikers are not in form on top of that, which has nothing to do with Allegri. But people will still bitch. Idk if it's hilarious or ridiculous.

True story.

I can't quite figure out what some here's problem is in particular tbh, we still in December and there will still be plenty of rotation going on, is not like Max is seriously that nuts to effectively drop Dybala for the rest of the season...ofc he will eventually find the right fit and balance that will include our most decisive players. Why would anyone think otherwise?

The form and fitness of many players have pushed Max into experimenting not only player rotation but formations as well, we still in the build-up process while still in the fight for all 3 objectives, idk what people complaining so much about, with a damn experimental squad we basically prevailed over our main title contenders (Roma, Napoli and a lucky Inter that went on to lose next two games after they played us), we just have to be patient because the team is in good hands and it's rather exciting when we think about how it will be when we actually have everyone available in a sorted out formation. ;)

Yeah, we keep talking about tactics, and formations and what not, and then you see the El Classico line ups from yesterday, in both teams, and you see both coaches play 4-4-2, and both midfields consist of "Rakitic-Bosquets-Paulinho-Iniesta" and Real's (Kroos-Modric-Kovacic-Casemiro) and you think to yourself "D'fuck is this shit? Who plays on the wings? Who defends? Who attacks?".

It's possible and it's a scary possibility. The main fear, of course, is Dybala and the summer mercato.
I'm hopeful, though, that after we left behind this month of facing rivals with strong wingers, Dybala will be getting his regular starts.

Allegri is known for sticking with a working formation, but in this last month it wasn't so much about the formation per se, as it was about the qualities of a particular rival. With Inter and Roma, especially, it was about nullifying the threat from their wingers and fullbacks. The three in midfield will stay, but from here on I don't expect us to keep playing hard working wingers all the time. The three in attack will change, and it won't necessarily be 4-3-3 with wingers. In short, Allegri got what he wanted from the matches against Napoli, Inter and Roma, and now he will please the crowd with Dybala starting almost non-stop.

Thanks to popular demands. I now have a signature, quoting myself.
by the way, allegri really messed up his substitution.
First off, he tried to tire and injure mandzukic by letting him play 90 mins. a manager that ruins a player career and health should be banned.
second, he subbed in bernie, whose haircut and facial feature makes him look like a new or leans housewife. added nothing to the team
finally. his treatment for dybala is disrespectful and lack of balls. he would never complain about khedira's crappy performance. biased italian old skool crap.

So much non-sense that it really burns my eyes to read... if you and others repeteadly post crap like this after a run of excellent results then i dont even want to imagine how it would have been like if we actually lost one of the Napoli/Inter/Roma games.

Good way to look at it.

Love how ppl here thinks like they have experience managing a soccer team, let alone juve size lol

Im behind Allegri, nothing harder than to manage a team that has been winning for 6 years straight.. the fact that we're still winning amaze me

Juve sail through Scudetto challenges

On paper it seemed as if this month would be a minefield, but Adam Digby saw the Bianconeri squeeze the life out of their title rivals.

When the Serie A fixture list was revealed back in the summer, Juventus supporters were rightly concerned about their run of games during December. As the 2017-18 campaign got underway, their fears about facing Napoli, Inter and Roma during the final month of the year grew greater still, the three clubs emerging as genuine threats to the Old Lady’s dominance of Italian football.

Indeed, after six years of marching to the title almost unchallenged, the quartet remain in contention. Yet rather than struggling, the Bianconeri have used those head-to-head clashes to underline their superiority, with a narrow 1-0 win over Roma on Saturday evening meaning they had taken seven points from those encounters.

And they did so in perhaps the most painful possible manner. A trip to the cauldron of the Stadio San Paolo came first and, after being showered with vitriol from the same fans who once worshiped him, Gonzalo Higuain bagged the decisive goal. Celebrating with gusto, the Argentinian has since been criticised by former team-mate Lorenzo Insigne for showing just how much he enjoyed netting against the Partenopei.

Yet while Insigne believed Higuain’s celebration was “disrespectful,” for Juve and their big No. 9 it was simply taking care of business. A 0-0 draw with Inter followed, the result failing to show just how poorly the Milanese side fared, and that brought us to the clash with Roma, which Alessandro Florenzi insisted would “tell us a lot” about the quality of the Giallorossi.

Once again, Max Allegri’s men would suck the life out of the game, nullifying the visitors and limiting their chances to score. When they did find a sight of goal, it was ironic that it would be Wojciech Szczesny – who left the Stadio Olimpico to join the Turin giants this summer – who stood tall to deny them.

The Polish goalkeeper made some outstanding stops, his late save when one-on-one with Patrik Schick preserving a lead given to them by another former Roma star. Medhi Benatia needed two attempts to break the deadlock following a first half corner, but just like Higuain, he clearly relished putting his old club to the sword.

Throw in another excellent midfield performance from Miralem Pjanic and the travelling supporters tucked away in the far corner of Juventus Stadium could be forgiven for feeling as if the Ghost of Christmas Past had visited them three times in one night.

Yet much like their fellow Scudetto hopefuls, it will be in the coming weeks when we see Roma’s true colours. Napoli followed up their loss to the Bianconeri by dropping points against Fiorentina, while Inter have lost to both Udinese and Sassuolo since facing the Old Lady, not to mention needing a penalty shoot-out to see off third tier Pordenone in the Coppa Italia.

There remain many questions for Juve of course, not least of which Allegri’s overly conservative team selection. While the result justifies his choices, it is unthinkable that this defensive approach is sustainable or to imagine playing another six months with Federico Bernardeschi, Douglas Costa and Paulo Dybala sat on the sidelines instead of being in the starting XI.

But for now, all that matters is that Juventus secured yet another win. Or, perhaps more importantly, inflicted a defeat on a title rival and turned what looked like a difficult December into a showcase of their superiority.

Benching Dybala is disrespectful?? Who the f... is Dybala? This is Juventus. I'm even a fan of Dybala but no player is bigger than the team. Is he above meritocracy? Whoever can get us to win, plays.

Why isn't it disrespectful to bench the other 13 or so players we have sitting it out?

People here sounds like Roma fans. "Totti plays, and that's the end of That

The team was on a dangerous path conceding this much. They turned it around with 7 (8?) Clean sheets. Racked up the points and built up confidence. The narrative went from "Juve crisis" to "of course Juve wins, but it should be by a bigger margin!". But for Sure, these decisions will cost us in the future...

:agree:

Dybala needs to make sacrifices on and off the pitch to play. Max tailor-made his 4231 for him, but when he is not on his 100% there is no point to run it. We are the far more balanced team with three mids.

People got blind like Merda's or Manu's fan after a straight victories...

Our so appreciate clean sheets came with a high tempo high pressure and outnumber rival sacrificing any kind of creativity and technique... Only Pjanic and yesterday AS bring some creation to the team, the rest was just base on the momentum where our players overrun rivals

We can win the league with that approach cuz our squad is way better than any in Italy but in Europe we r gonna suffer like every team have done the last decade

Look at it this way. How Pipa scored last two goals? how many goals he scored last three games? Yesterday he failed twice but there were the only chances he had last three games without someone properly assisting him

Szczesny
Barzagli Benatia Chiellini Sandro
Khedira Pjanic Matuidi
Cuadrado Higuain Mandzukic

Dybala
Pjaca Bernardeschi Douglas
Bentancur Marchisio
Asamoah Rugani Howedes Lichtsteiner
Buffon

One thing is for sure, both teams are better than Roma

But those if 2 teams vs each other who would win?
