Damn.

A conclusion based on a sample size of 1 (lol) out of a plethora of games. That's something.

And in that sample size of one, makes sense that we targeted their poor FBs. And our CBs always hold a deep line (they're not as good with a high line) even when we press.
We had a similar problem a few weeks ago against Barcelona at home IIRC. We played a midfield double pivot of Khedira-Pjanic and we struggled to get the ball off them until Max substituted on Marchisio and Matuidi. It looked like bizarre substitutions at first, as suddenly we were playing with 4 midfielders, but we actually began retaining the ball much better. There was some good buildup play before the Dybala chance that Ter Stegen just saved.

People keep on citing our 3-0 win over Barca as a reason to why the double pivot of Pjanic and Khedira supposedly works. IMO that game was more about Barcelona being bad than us being good. The 2016/17 Barcelona team was probably the worst Barcelona team of the last 10 years. Luis Enrique was a mediocre coach who flopped at Roma. Now they have a coach who actually has a clue, they look much more solid.

Our biggest problem right now is that Marchisio can’t stay fit. We either need to buy a new midfielder or hope Bentancur develops rapidly.

Forgive me for not being 100% positive all the time.
I'm not telling you to be positive all the time like zacheryah. We started slow last season as well and peaked in second half of the season.
Juve is only 2 points behind Inter, and qualified for KO in CL so relax..

How dare I give my opinion about how we can improve.
Leave this to Allegri pls, he is getting 7,5 mill a year for this job..if he were to follow your advice we would be demoted to serie b..

Until our defense becomes solid the rest of our team will struggle with it. We base our team on strong defense and tactical advantage. If you honeslty think that we thumped Barca and made it to the CL final with pure luck you are ignorant. Our fullbacks owned them on the flanks which made them go more narrow. Look at hom Sandro forced Messi away from him in those games and how Neymar was in Alves' pocket. Thats not a bad coach thats having an incredible defense

I wish Allegri can defend star players the way other top managers do. Every pre-match conference, it's this player and that one are going through difficult time and need to focus :sergio:

In no time, we'll see Dybala, Sandro and Pjanic out of the club until we realize his control over the players and lack of support is the problem.

It's the media asking him questions. Italian media loves drama and stirring the pot. If he wasns't asked I doubt he would bring it up because of the controversy that is creating from it.

We obviously don't know what happens behind the scenes but it wouldn't be implausible for that to happen.

Alright:

Fixed Conceding goals: Done
Stopping Midfield overrun: Done
Starting to score more goals: Done
Involving more players: Done
Getting a working formation: Done
Fixing Benatia: Done
Fixing MDS: Done
---

Max I think has seen the big picture and a 3 man midfield is the reason why we have consecutive clean sheets. The 433 (or 43...whatever) is the way forward. We had 3 different goal scorers today which is nice (2 from midfield) so we are starting to see that scoring diversity again.

Now he needs to sort out the mental collapse of Sandro & Dybala. A happy Dybala will give us a happy Higuain IMO. Like I said, when those two players are in form in attack, there is pretty much nothing opposition teams will be able to do.

Nice convincing win today away from home. Weak team sure, but these kind of commanding victories are exactly the thing this team needs , especially players like Benatia/MDS/Sandro need to get their confidence over the finish line. Our defense has been through a roller coaster so wins even against weak teams like this are critical to that continued upward trend.

Well done Max. Forza Juve

I wonder what he will do with the Coppa. He and Conte literally have fairly consistently played the bench almost all the time.

Marchisio & Pjaca starting is a must. Whatever gets Marchisio fit and benching Sami.

He's done a fine job fixing that defence.

The only real worry now is the mental collapse of the Argentines, they're a complete shadow of their former selves.

Sandro is also a concern but he's slowly coming good.

All in all, 6 games straight without conceding and generally playing nice football, immense job!
