Not the goals, but what did sturato offer when he came back. The second could've been avoided if he cleared the ball better. MDS gifted Demeblé a goal and we were lucky they didn't get a penalty. And above that, my problem is if Allegri doesn't trust Licht, why play him in Serie A, if he intends to play MDS, he should be playing in Serie A too, to gel with the team, get game rythme, not throw him in the CL against Barcelona for his first game.
Baffling decision in my opinion.

Did any of the goals come about because of our choice of right back? Don't recall it, personally.
well our starting RB got injured, committed a criminal mistake and we had to substitute him for our only midfielder, in light of that doubting Licht's exclusion from our CL list is reasonable

It's not a decision that is going to make or break this game or the CL campaign, so not really worth focusing on. Honestly if that's the biggest problem we have than we'd be in a better shape than we actually are.

Anyway, the early part of the season distorts many things, for the last 6 years we've always sorted it out with time.

We could have included Höwedes in the squad, so it doesn't really matter. If Allegri had a problem with either Sturaro or Barzagli filling in he would have included him instead of fricking Merio.

there isn't one specific problem that will make or break our CL campaign, success depends on a thousand small things, they're all worth discussing imo :p

one thing is to freak-out over how our season will go after a loss in September - this is crazy, I agree.
another thing is taking a 3:0 beating from Barca on CL opening night and not caring about this humiliation - this is crazy as well, we're not Espanyol and losses like this seriously hurt our image

our image is fine. We had crazy injuries/suspensions to our lineup. I think any other day it would have been different

Everyone shitting on Benatia and De Sciglio but both Sandro and Barzagli were pretty poor too. Only our midfield worked last night.
Our miss definitely were not working on the goals

Man that's what I was saying last night. MDS was the scapegoat thread and I even offered the post in Sandro's thread that the last 2 goals came down the left...but it all comes down to the pass.

dunno, if we consider how attractive Juve is to new fans, the best moment of last season probably was that 3:0 Barca beating. last night was the opposite of that. and God knows we need the fans and the money

We missed only two starters, Chiellini and Mandzukic.

Marchisio hasn't been a starter for over a year due to injuries, Khedira shouldn't have started eitherway, and isn't it the same Cuadrado who we want him benched in other games?

People want to find an excuse for everything.

When I see our happy roster at right side wing and back position I admire this man work, patience and even results no matter Lazio an Barcelona games. In start of season he did in small time more then good completely without one good not even great player in one side. I hope he will stay because there is no smart coach who will stand roster with only one back Sandro and 7 attacking options we cant use more then 4. One of them costs 40 stupid mil.

It doesn't mean they were not starters.

Yep. Allegri did he best he could with what he had. I blame the players. I blame individual mistakes. And I blame our attack for not compensating for a crap defense.

Barzagli has given so much over the years and its understandable his performances might drop cause he is 36.

Benatia i never got the hype, never. Overrated even back in his Roma/Bayern days. I knew smth was fishy if Bayern after having spent big on him got rid of him so quick.

Sandro was ill and might not be 100%

Benatia seems now like expensive backup signing. And we could have signed Zappacosta instead of De Sciglio.

So you are telling me that Bentancur starts over Khedira or Marchisio now? This was Bentancur first CL start and what a game to start in. 100% he would not have started had either of Marchisio or Khedira been fit.

Come on. Stop BS and its the usual ones who agree with you not thinking on the big picture.

Who here expected Bentancur to be a starter this season?

Were.

Asamoah was once a starter, should we also include him to the players we were missing last night?
If I'm not mistaken yesterday was the first time this season Cuadrado did not start. Khedira did not start only one game when he made room for Marchisio. Do you still think Asamoah comparison is valid? The fact that you could have been disappointed with their performance does not mean they were not starting. What you are doing is contesting the facts. As Stephan said, both Marchisio and Khedira would 100% start before Bentancur and probably Matuidi. Same for Cuadrado and D. Costa. Add Mandzukic and Chiellini into the mix and you have 5 players from the starting eleven missing.
