Juventus general manager Giuseppe Marotta confirms Martin Caceres “is free to find an agreement with whoever he wants to.”
The Uruguayan is out of contract at the end of the current season, and after he ruptured his achilles ligament it was suggested he would not be offered a new deal.
The defender has been linked with a move to Napoli, and the Bianconeri director says Caceres is free to go wherever he wants.
“I don’t know if Caceres will go to Napoli,” Marotta said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“He’s out of contract and at this moment he’s free to find an agreement with whoever he wants to.”
The Old Lady tried to sign Napoli captain Marek Hamsik last summer, and Marotta was asked about him and Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain.
“We won’t return for Hamsik, the response of [President Aurelio] De Laurentiis last year makes me think it would be the same again this year.
“It’s right that Marek will continue to wear the blue shirt.
“Cavani? At the moment there’s no chance, as we’re complete in that department. But then, you know, you can never predict what will happen in the transfer market.
“We’re evaluating all kinds of possibilities.”

it'll be hard to see him wearing the jersey of any other italian club. good luck to him personally, i still hope that roma get relegated next year.

Damn. I loved this player ever since his first loan stint with us in '09.
He exuded the kind of characteristics this club looks for in players. I remember being over the moon and refreshing my browser every hour when we were trying to sign him from Sevilla in the transfer window of that magical '11-'12 season.

But alas, all good things must come to an end. I wish Martin all the best in his future (except when playing against us). Will always have good memories of him in our colours. The young Caceres who almost got into a tuffle with Muntari in '09, scoring against Milan in the copa of '11-'12, scoring against napoli in the league in '12-'13, that cross right onto Nando's head against Madrid in the CL groups of '13-'14, the times he valiantly covered numerous positions in the back........

It's better than him going to Napoli at least no one can hope that kind of punishment to any of our former players. Living among the trash (human and actual) would have been too much for him now he gets to live in a city that is actually quite ok.
