If you think he is a good player then the injury is a blessing for the club because they can likely extend his contract for less than if he was in form and healthy.

And we all think he's good.

Missing him for the whole second half of the season is good thing? being a good player isnt worth shit if hes not playing

It's a good thing as in he will cost less to extend in theory.

Caceres' injuries aren't really chronic. You jump and land and snap your achilles. It's just bad luck really. It's not like Asamoah who has the same muscle injury every month.

Caceres still manages to play about 20 games a season for us. Nowadays he's 5th choice CB and 3rd choice RWB. Even if he's healthy he won't be playing that much really.

I still dont think paying Caceres slightly higher or lower in wages is going to be a major factor in mercatos to come, would be better to just have him available

It can be bad luck, but at some point one injury after the other stops being a coincidence. The difference between the two is that Asamoah actually appears to have had bad luck and is slowly recovering fully from his injury, while Caceres is actually injury prone and has been out for the better part of the last two seasons. The reason Asamoah keeps having to take time out for "muscle injuries" is that he was never given time to fully rehabilitate his leg and is now effectively doing that and getting back into the squad at the same time.

Also, Caceres played closer to 15 games last season if that and less than 10 this season. Fact is he's a backup you can't rely on to be fit most of the time, which defeats the purpose of having a backup.

A car accident after being drunk and 2-3 injury blows ruined his season.
Last year wasnt too great either.
So i guess that we will axe him and get an unknown Italian talent for 10-15mil with a couple of NT caps...

Juve draft Caceres deal, but Inter...

Juventus are looking to extend Martin Caceres' contract, but Inter and Liverpool hope to steal him.

The 28-year-old defender was putting in some solid performances for the Old Lady, but the rupture of his Achilles tendon early in February ruled him out for the remainder of this season.

This summer Caceres' contract expires and a number of teams are believed to be hoping to pick him up as a free agent. According to CalcioNews24, Inter and Liverpool, along with some unspecified Spanish and Turkish teams, are hoping to lure the player into their ranks.

The Bianconeri are thus in talks with the player's agent Daniel Fonseca to try and extend his contract. The new deal would see Caceres staying for an extra year at Juventus until 2017, with the option to renew every year.

No details have been released on the salary, but presumably Caceres would be earning a little less under his new contract, giving Inter a margin to take him away by means of a better offer.

Im glad we are at least giving an offer. From what he said in the past he really likes it here. But every professional has different ambitions on hat they want to accomplish individually and as a team. hope he stays so e don have o replace a backup hi offeason. gives us more abilitty o sign a rb that is really good if the are available

I'm glad to see Juventus do this, Caceres was grasping his chances of redemption when something very unfortunate happened to him on the pitch, that can happen to ANY professional athlete. We don't need to reiterate his skills, advantages and abilities he possesses; however give his love for the club, his pronounced desire to stay, his versatility and proven worth, it would have been very foolish to have cast him off. Also, with Licht approaching his mid 30's, Caceres will be a very nice defensive backup to have at RB / RWB. I really do hope he stays, I love Martin, his among my top 5 players in this squad, even top 3... Aside from the old guard like Gigi, Chiello and Marchisio, Barza and Caceres are right up there!

Roma meet Caceres agent?
By Football Italia staff

Roma will reportedly meet with the agent of Juventus defender Martin Caceres.

The Uruguayan is out for the rest of the season with an achilles injury, and his contract expires in June.

The Bianconeri seem unlikely to offer him a new deal, and Napoli are believed to have opened talks with the 28-year-old.

However, Sky is now reporting that Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini will meet with Caceres’ agent Daniel Fonseca in Milan, with a view to bringing him to Stadio Olimpico.

While the Partenopei remain favourites for his signature, the Giallorossi are keen to bring him in as a low-cost defensive reinforcement.
god no :sergio: @Fr3sh renew his contract and loan him to some la liga team if necessary. don't wanna see Martin in a nipples or roma shirt :inter:

Honestly, I hope he stays, i want him to stay. However I know and we know this man is a bianconero through and through. Just spare him the milanese tranny whore sisters and he keeps scoring on them. I wish the best.

Maybe Nipples or Roma might win something thanks to him :D
Hopefully not at our expense.

If we keep the same training and medical staff he'd be mad to stay with us.
