You did the right thing. We all agreed on that rule.
We should find a way to change it, though. I really wanted to play and I was online all the time every day after day 1, yet that one day cost me an autolynch. In games that last 6-7 days, it's normal for some player not to be able to post at all during voting hours at least one day.
On the other hand, if we don't punish the non-posters, some players, especially Gs, might abuse this.

Any ideas for a new rule?

Osman at the time was under suspicion because of his first day last minute vote change.

I'd have included Tomice or Salvo though.
