until we bring in a jose mourinho fabio capello ancelloti lippi hiddink rafa and the likes class we will win nothing. Del Neri's appointment tells me the board have decided to go for a top four position next year not a title challenge

Some of the comments on here are laughable.

Sure he is not the big name we wanted but he has just had a very good season with Samp.

Give him a chance, at least to see who he wants to bring in, who he wants to stay before getting so emotional.

Mourinho used to be a translator.

Ancelotti used to coach Reggiana.

Lippi used to coach Siena and Atalanta.

everyone starts small until they get their big chance, you can't knock the dude just yet.

The guy ditched fuckin merda and milan to cheer for the sick Juve when our fans are looking for other teams to support, give the guy a break :D

Welcome abroad you on fire buddy
Thank you. Exactly my point. I left a team that his dominating Italian soccer(im canadadian)with 5 league titles in a row and a possible treble. Switch to a team that his struggling in Serie A.

This argument doesn't really stack up for Del Neri.

He made it to Roma and Porto and did not succeed in either job.

IIRC he never even coached Porto in an official game? and Roma was in all sorts of trouble during his reign, would be tough for anyone to succeed in that environment.

I'm not writing off Del Neri, but I don't feel that particular argument you put forward was a good one.

This guy is 59 years old now though. You think that a coach who has won nothing in his 24 years of coaching, is still waiting for another big chance after he miserably failed at Porto and Roma?

He didn't coach a single game at Porto and he took over at Roma in difficult circumstances
