Really trying not to get carried away with this transfer. On paper he should bully Serie A defenses, but we also had such high hopes for DL and Koop… so this could go either way.

Funny when he walked into J medical and asked in French “Is it always like this in Italy? The weather, it’s always raining?”. Guy’s already having second thoughts :scared:
He is belgian, 70% of the year there is gray and raining. He was probably feeling at home.

I have my doubts about the role and position we really plan to use him in but in terms of quality and impact if it all goes well i expect him to hit the ground running and likely establish himself as a automatic starter by winter.

I would not be surprised if he benches David in a few months.
I would since I see him more as behind the striker or near the main CF.
In David`s case I see it more of a battle between him and Vlahovic. Openda will be used there from time to time but I cant see it as a permanent thing.
Now if we use the same formation It would mean Yildiz and Openda fighting for the same spot while Conceicao and Zhegrova fight for the other spot (since I dont think any of Yildiz or Openda can take that right side permanently and do it efficiently when we already have 2 very talented players for that spot).

For the first few games - Openda will be used as a sub so it wouldnt matter much.
After a few games when we realize both Openda and Yildiz are both too good to be left on the bench the coach will have to consider a formation change to accumulate the talent into the starting lineup.

Seems like a very interchangeable player that can start next to Yildiz. Anyways this is a great problem to have because a week ago I was looking at next gen players for depth.

As a kid, Loïs #Openda was very close to not play any sports due to a serious bronchopneumonia that caused him to have serious respiratory issues.
A Belgian doctor would have told his mother that he would probably never run again.
Fortunately, he fully recovered through a delicate surgery and became a football prodigy and then a champion.
In 2023, #RedBullLeipzig signed him from #Lens for €42M.
Born in Liege to a Cameroonian father and a Franco-Moroccan mother, he started playing football following the steps of his big brother, Jodice.
He trained with his team and then with his brother, who is 4 years older than him.
Despite the physical difference, he scored many goals and used to bet with the clients at the bar of the pitch that he would score a certain number of goals to win fries and Fanta.
With the financial support of Paul-José M'Poku, #Openda attracted the interest of professional clubs in Liege.
After an initial rejection from #Standard, he joined the academy of the club and in 2015 he moved to #ClubBrugge.
The loneliness from being far from his family impacted him, and so his mother and his entire family moved with him.
His career was on the rise.
He was loaned to #VitesseArnhem, signed by #Lens and finally by #Leipzig.
He has always scored many goals in his career, except in his last season with #Leipzig, in which he had a lower performance.
At #Juventus, he hopes to redeem himself.
Nicknamed "Bouzou", #Openda uses a trick called "Openda-Bounce" to unbalance defenders.
He is a professional that takes good care of his body through a routine like cold showers when he wakes up and a specific diet.
He is married and has a daughter.

Well in that case he will definitely bench Conceicao and Zhegrova.
Conceicao is very talented and I really like him but he is still raw and inconsistent in terms of effectiveness. He could turn out to be a complete player later but I dont think he is currently as good as Openda.
Zhegrova - I dont know why he got the nod over Conceicao in some of your posts but from what I have seen, the guy is currently on Conceicao`s level more or less but with less the experience playing in Serie A.
I currently prefer Chico although who knows..
Openda is currently better than both and with better vision and better scoring record - On paper it would be a crime benching him.

Honestly I really dont care.
We have and had players which their idol was Del Piero and their favorite team Juventus - It was nice to hear but in terms of performance - it had no effect.
