So let me get this straight. You are telling me right now that Vucinic had comepetition from Tevez and Llorente last season? And you are also telling me that Totti didn't play almost 40 matches last year, and Destro played over 25?
That's your argument?
I'm done.
No, the argument is that Roma is Roma and Juve is Juve.
Osvaldo, or any other mediocre player that will join us, will find all that more difficult to shine, as he did to a smaller club.
And most important, that besides that just one season 2012, Osvaldo never really shined before, whilst Vucinic was proven more, when he were joining us.
One season wonders have the most chances to fail the most, there thousands of them that never really live up to their potential.
Gambling 20mil for such a player, just to keep him as a sub, when you already have one more player, of losely equivalent quality, is plainly stupid...

Osvaldo + Vucinic + youth investments and lets call this a mercato.

That's an upgrade. Osvaldo will be more useful to use than a unmotivated Vucinic, Quagliarella and Giovinco.

Guarin is another good midfielder to add to our already great midfield, now we can get rid of Padoin.

How are we spending 20 mil on Osvaldo. It's called a loan with an option to buy for 20 mil. If you think we'd actually spend that much come summer on Osvaldo you're off your rocker. We sent Aquilani back over a similar deal. We're spending 400,000 plus small bonuses for 6 months of Osvaldo as the best striker sub we'll have on this team. Vucinic doesn't want to be here anymore. And he is on the wrong side of 30 whereas Osvaldo is still 28. If he does well, I'm pretty sure we'll try to negotiate down to around 15 mil. If we get him for that, great. If not, no big loss. He'd be a great CF sub to Llorente though.

Cronios-speak is synonymous with the abandonment of all logic.

Years blend together for Cronios. Perhaps Vucinic had competition from Trezeguet and Baggio and even Omar Sivori's ghost as well over the past few years.

Destro was still a child last year, and Totti had retired already, and Roma really only had a single striker on their roster last year in Cronios-speak.
Time is not linear for Cronios. He has seen it all before. The past, the present, the future...they are all one in the same, one History. It is confirmed, Cronios is actually God.

Tevez turned out ok. They are two entirely different people, but you never know. Besides, at least half our squad can beat the shit out of him.

Because Roma and Southampton are full of fairies.

Who is Osvaldo going to touch at Juve? He'll get cranked so hard back and sent right back to Southampton.

He's come on a very cheap loan, what do we have to lose? Nothing.

Guarin for Vucinic could be back on.

No one is ignoring that, but our arguments were based solely on ability to score goals.

And yes that could be problematic, but none of us know that yet

Man, you werent around, but we did the same thing with other players.
Just look at our roster, we still have Motta, a player that we took with an option to buy, he never signed but we have kept him, we still have him!
No else wants him and he doents want to leave because noone will be fool enough to get him and pay him as we do.
Hence, we cant even sell Vucinic, we are very weak at such deals, most of the times we are getting conned big time.
Signing an option to buy for 20mil, is no way a smart move, it is very worrying considering past Marotta works, time and time again Marotta has proved that he hasnt learnt from his mistakes.
I wonder when this deal is sealed and wont allow us to buy a better player because our budget is spent, if this double account will still be here...

It's an option to buy though... If he doesn't perform, we send him back to Southampton. If he does perform but they don't want to sell him cheap enough to us, we send him back. Like with Aquilani, Borriello, Bendtner, Anelka. We didn't exercise the option to buy on any of those players.

If we exercise the 20 million option to buy in the summer, I think most of us will be upset, but realistically, the chances of us offering anything over 15 million come summer are slim to none. It's a low risk, potentially high reward move.
