Marcello Lippi insists he will not be cutting short his sabbatical to return to Juventus.

Following Didier Deschamps' exit after Saturday's win over Mantova, Lippi was mooted as a leading contender to take over as coach.

But the veteran tactician, who has been enjoying a break from the game since winning the World Cup with Italy last summer, dismissed talk of another stint as Juve coach.

"As for age, I could be retired, but I have decided to work again for a few years," Lippi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Anyway my rest is not ended. I've said many times that next summer I won't coach - and the fact that Juve's bench is now free doesn't change my decision.

"We have known each other a long time - have I ever changed after having taken a decision?

"No, and it will be the same this time too. Mine is a decision that is set aside from everything.

"Do you know how many clubs have looked for me? Many, and from many countries.

"I say again - also this summer I'll be resting."

thank u swag this is the best description guys, i dont know why but every one over the past day has been acitng as if lippi's decision is def going to be yes with out even hearing from him. u know what i think this is a lesson for the management to teach them how to treat people who did all they could for the sake of the team and us supporters and then ended being bugged by an idiot who could be replaced easily. The more I think about it, the more I disagree with that. On the plus side, he would attract and retain talent. But talent doesn't always equate with success. (See: Inter.) A manager has to do more than just be a recruiter -- they have to help bring the best out of their players. As we saw with Lippi's last season with us, that clearly did not happen. And after winning the World Cup, the only way to go from here is down to disappointment, really.

We need a coach who is hungry with something to prove still. Someone with new ideas who can develop younger talent in the absence of all the cash we were previously accustomed to in Serie A (something Lippi never did that well at). Which is why I am favoring the likes of Prandelli, or to look out further even Benitez or Mourinho (who are much less likely to live their cushy spots, though Mourinho could leave for the same motivators in his club that made Didi leave ours).

hahahahahahahaha lol yes ur absolutely right man!!! i think Diddy was doing just fine...he was working so well especially with the youth..the bottom line...with 9 deficit points...i wasnt expecting juse to win the serie B, maybe 2nd place or third but definetly not the 1st...we had so many hard times with the defence...SHAME for our management to let our couch leave just like that...he deserved at least a year or two...now lets see who'll follow DD...

i mean why would mourinho pick juventus over any other club at the moment in seria A to manage.

or why would make benetiz come to juventus if he has reached the cl final twice with the same team and won it once in the 2 encounters.

Maybe he can see that as a new challenge.He said that he wants to coach an italian team, and we are a team where he can show his ability to all these who say that he is not a brillian coach and he wins with money.We are not a ready team, it's like he will build a competitive Juventus with his identity.

I hope you are right i truly do, if anyone takes over right now apart from Lippi specially of that list they mentioned then we are truly and properly fucked. And this time fucked doesn't mean not winning, it will mean fucked up transfers, stars lost, fucked up team for years to come. Prandelli has just extended his contract with Viola...
I cant see him coming to Juve, unless our board pull a shock move to him, in which honestly i don't see it happening!
