Im playing around pendrive linux, got mint 7 kde loaded onto it but sound isnt working. Googling says I need to add the following line:
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop

into the /etc/modprobe.conf file(or your distributions equivalent), but I cant find that file. Help here, quick folks.
MINT worked a treat for me, am liking it a lot right now

Yo guys, since I'm running Mint from an USB flash disk and I can save my configurations perfectly well, the system is running persistently.

Question: is it recommended to use System update? And overall, should I choose to install to HDD, from this same flash disk, will the configurations I made be present on the HDD install, or will I just get a regular fresh install?
