too bad we need it to do many things .. Sad is the fact that I might even fail many courses if I don't use them ..
And it's only the beginning of your pain. If you go work for some company where you have to write documents, you're gonna be stuck with Office for the rest of your life, most likely. A prospect like that almost makes suicide more appealing.

About M$:

About Office in general you should better ask somebody from millions of people who use it everyday at work. Maybe it's not amazing, perfect, but we don't have better.

You're absolutely right. And do you know why? Because Microsoft has a stranglehold on the market, they sell you crap and then make you upgrade at ridiculous prices. And what if you want to stop using their bullshit and use something else? Tough, you can't. Because no other program can reliably open their documents, because MS changes the document formats every single version.

It's crap, check. It's the best we have, check. And we'll never get rid of this crap, check.

You know, every time when some Linux user try to convince me that Linux it's better than Windows last argument is that Linux is free of charge. And do you know what I say? Microsoft products could be also free of charge! (I didn't wanted to put direct answer :p )

It's free of charge, but that's not the reason it's better. Just like oxygen is free of charge, but that's not the reason it's better to inhale than toxic fumes from a factory.

Of course not, because inhaling toxic fumes from a factory i also free :)

On a serious note, after having used the latest version of MS Office, I can safely say that Openoffice actually is better, if only for the fact that it hasn't implemented a horribly ill-conceived 'ribbon' menu system that makes it impossible to find anything, and worst of all, disables simple keyboard shortcuts :faq1:

Do you think those fumes just come into existence spontaneously? Someone is paying good money to generate them ;)

The only software I don't mind paying is NOD32. Only one installation of Norton Anti Virus will do that to a person.

A bit off topic but can someone PM or email me a valid serial# or a keygen for SecureCRT 5.2? I need it for work and am tired of using Reflections & PuTTY
