I can get 60kB/s which would not be so bad but I don't feel like staying longer at work just because of Ubuntu. I'm gonna wait till i get home and download, torrents will be well seeded by then I presume.

I will upgrade, why the fresh install?

I'm going to customize the default look anyway, so why should I even look at it?

Fresh installs are always better, performance wise anyway. It's like when you install new graphics card drivers, it's always best to un-install the previous version to prevent conflicts. But that was windows, this is linux.

I opted for an upgrade and doing it as we speak . 805 MB of files

If it doesn't work out properly I really don't mind having a fresh install, I'll just do it again. Installing Ubuntu is fun
